“Nice hotel”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

My hubby and I stayed here for the evening recently and enjoyed our brief stay. We attended a concert at the nearby Constitution Hall. The employees that I encountered were quite friendly. Tayvon checked us in and provided a recommendation for dinner. We took his recommendation and walked three blocks to Tonic. The rooms at this hotel were quite comfortable and furnished in modern decor. Adrienne greeted us upon return from the concert. If you ever plan to stay here and attend a concert at Constitution hall, always take an umbrella to be safe and never assume that you will be able to easily catch a cab to get back! Anyway, this is a nice, clean hotel. Small pantry with snacks/goodies. No room service. Parking is extremely expensive IMO. It's $36. Other than the high parking fee, I would have nothing even remotely negative to say.

Having lived in the DC area several years ago, it was nice to come back and stay in a nice motel. Rooms are very clean, beds extremely comfortable and front desk staff very friendly. Loved being able to walk to so many attractions.

Room Tip: Quiet...even though located in a busy section of city. Rooms clean and beds very nice.

Stayed here while on a 3-day business trip. My colleague picked it on the grounds of its location. He agreed with me afterwards that it was a bad choice. If it weren't for the very friendly and helpful staff and the excellent bed, I would have rated this place only two instead three out of five. The hotel is totally without charm or character. There is nothing original or distinctive about it. Maybe some people like that. I don't. Moreover, it was a complete rip-off. 330 bucks a night when that's what you pay at, say, the Westin Georgetown, is ridiculous. The room was OK: great bed, but otherwise lacklustre. There was a really crappy coffee maker with two sachets of coffee but only one of creamer. Some positives: free wifi, decent shower. Breakfast was a la carte, but a complete rip-off. Next time I'm in town I'll go back to my favourite place: the Georgetwon Inn.

This is a very nice new hotel with a spacious lobby and nice rooms. It is conveniently located for sightseeing, or anything related to George Washington university as it is literally part of the campus, attached to a campus building. It is a tad pricey.
The main problem is the inability to get a cab at the hotel. I was very disappointing when the front desk asked if I needed a taxi and I said yes and they said they called for one that would be there in 10 - 15 minutes. Well the called a sedan service, not a taxi. Sedan service to Capitol Hill is about 50% more than taxi service. I then tried to get a cab on my own, which took an additional 15 minutes. The Hotel is on a side street and not in a location many cabs just happen to drive by. Recommendation to the hotel is build a relationship with one of the cab companies not a sedan company.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the elevator - i heard a dinging noise quite frequently.

We stayed one night at the Courtyard located in the Foggy Bottom district of DC to visit American University. The hotel was a short walk from the Washington Mall and the White House. Lots of greThere is parking on site but would have liked to park our own card instead of using valet service. The hotel staff was very accommodating. The rooms are very clean, decent sized for a city hotel, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to DC.

This hotel is very conveniently located within a walking distance of the White House!
Guest parking charges for 24 hours are the usual 36$ but watch out for the 25$ valet
parking charges. You are not given a choice to park it yourself!Ouch !
The lobby is nice looking, uncluttered, with facility to print your boarding pass.
The coffee shop works from 7am to 11 pm ,has very few things to offer and the
breakfast is a la carte.
Room was clean and modern.Wifi internet is free.Cable tv is nice with usual channels.
There is a small refrigerature for storage. The wash rooms are clean, well arranged but toileteries provided are very basic.Coffee maker is provided but no water kettle.
Service is fast,efficient and friendly.

At about 3 blocks from the White House or The Mall and about 6 blocks from the nearest metro stations, this hotel is pretty conveniently located.

The only downside I can think of is the room rates. Anything in DC, near the mall is going to be over priced. The only reason we stayed here is because we we arrived early for a conference had Marriott Rewards points and needed a place to stay fro one night. If you're looking for a good value, I would definitely recommend staying in Arlington/Rossylyn near the Rosslyn metro station or Alexandria near the King St metro station. (In Alexandria, most of the hotels come with complimentary breakfast).

Otherwise, this hotel was convenient and very clean.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast at the hotel's bistro was pretty good (much better than we anticipated) and a was also a decent value, considering it was in a Marriott.

Our only gripe was a loud rattle coming from the AC unit. We checked in late at night and didn't notice the rattle until after we showered and got in bed. We informed the front desk before leaving and they apologized.

If you need to be near the mall, this hotel is a good option. If you're looking for a good value, I would look outside of DC, next to a metro station.
