It's an interesting place on the new H Street corridor. As Washingtonians know, H Street is the new place to be/go. There is a major rebuilding boom going on and every block seems to have at least two new places being developed at all times. The Casbah is one of the newcomers. It sits on a corner and has an interesting demeanor. It is relatively small which provides intimacy and they have a great outdoor area. The name made me think they had Moroccan or Arabic food, but the food is actually Asian, and beautifully plated and prepared. We had already eaten dinner and just had lite fare. I ordered their rice dish (can't remember name), but its a traditional Indian desert. It was beautifully plated. Everyone was welcoming from the hostess who seated us to the server and the DJ setting up for the evening. We didn't stay for the music, but I understand they clear out the tables and chairs for dancing with music provided by a DJ on Thursdays through Saturdays.
