Description: The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. A bipartisan favorite, we have occupied the nation’s capital since 1995, anchored across from the Verizon Center and around the corner from the International Spy Museum, National Portrait Gallery and Chinatown. Make waves at our racetrack-shaped bar or sup on seafood underneath the hull-like ceiling in our restaurant’s main dining room. Either way, be presidential and order a cup of our New England Clam Chowder; it’s been served at every Inauguration since 1981. Other accolades include “Best Place for Great Seafood” (Washingtonian Magazine, 2008) and “Best Crab Cakes” (Washingtonian Magazine, 2008)

My family was looking for fresh see food while on the DC area. Two locals told us about Legals. The service was great and the food amazing!! The sea scallops were beyond expectation and the paella was perfect. I highly recommend!!!!

Great spot to visit before or after Ford's Theater and/or the Spy Museum. The chowder was wonderful, the rest of our dishes were very good.

Had eaten at Boston locations and this outlet did not fail to live up to it's name. Everything was excellent and the service was top-notch. Suggest that you try the chowder, siracha popcorn shrimp (which is an entree in and of itself) and the crab roll. It is conveniently located to the metro, arena and museum of American Art. One of the top restaurants in the country bar none.

We loved this place and wanted to go back in the same trip. The seafood was outstanding and we loved the atmosphere and historic building. We got a table near the window and loved the neighborhood. Great draft beers on tap. A place to stay in linger, or to grab a bite between tours. Not far off the Trolley Route, get off at the Spy Museum.

flawless service and a well rehearsed performance, for the usual good food.
we had not tried the Washington establishment, but while we do not enjoy the street too much, we found a great dinner inside. Do not expect a cozy atmosphere or feeling "at home" it is a tourist place and an excellent one at that
