“Charming inn, great location”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

I loved staying at the Taft Bridge Inn. It was beautiful on the inside and out, historically decorated with asian accents. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and I so enjoyed sharing the company of my fellow guests at the community dining table. The location was ideal for business in the Dupont area, with an easy walk to the metro. I can't wait to come back to the Inn for a weekend getaway!

Room Tip: Ask about the couples' rooms for a special weekend! The business rooms are just room enough solo...

I loved the stay at the Taft Bridge Inn - the people working there are very nice and helpful, it is calm, clean and in 10 to 15 minutes walking distance to Dupont Circle (metro station, many cafes, shops and more). Breakfast was delicious (between 7.30 and 8.45 on weekdays, an hour later at weekends); I would definitely recommend the stay there and go there again myself!!!

My visit to DC was more pleasant with my stay at the Taft Bridge Inn. This Inn is a very clean, with spacious rooms with cable TV, air conditioning and very comfortable beds. I stayed in room 17 with bathroom for a very reasonable price. Jennifer, the manager, is excellent. Always attentive to providing excellent service, makes adjustments for check-in before 3pm, she prepare the breakfast, which is delicious and enough to start the day. In addition, Jennifer makes excellent recommendations on sites and museums to visit. A special detail of Jennifer was preparing to me a bag of fruit on my check-out, as it was before 7:00 am.

The Inn has a great location, with a subway station nearby, the zoo 15 minutes walk, restaurants, supermarkets and a seven-eleven.

Definitely I'll return to Taft Bridge Inn on my next visit to Washington DC

I have stayed at Taft Bridge Inn (Georgian Mansion) for the last ten years because the property is absolutely stunning with loads of original details such as the oak wainscoting, original beam ceilings, 12ft ceilings, moldings, clawfoot bathtubs (with great showers that offer great water pressure) original hardware on windows and doors and exquisite original hard wood flooring with lots of original art work! The owner is Japanese and has a passion for museums and Washington, DC. The main floor houses a great library on museums, gardening, art, and all things Washington, DC. The location is very upscale near the French embassy, Beaux Arts Apartment Houses (listed Best Addresses of Washington, DC) and grand victorian/art deco houses that you can only see in Washington. The inn is named after the beautiful beaux art bridge: Taft Bridge which is only a few steps away from the Inn. Do not miss taking a short walk over it towards the National Zoo and beautiful Connecticut Avenue (Park Avenue of Washington, DC).

The service is also outstanding. There is a relatively new manager, Jennifer, who is extremely personable and will accomodate your every need. For example, I left my favorite reading glasses behind and she gladly found them immediately and is over nighting them. It is great to have some one like her there who really cares. She is only one staff member there. All the staff are so nice and helpful.

Taft Bridge Inn is a truly a remarkable Inn and you will never forget the experience of staying there and in enjoying the Kaloroma neighborhood it is located which is steps away from Dupont, Adams Morgan and Woodley Park.

If you love historic house properties, do not miss your opportunity to stay here. You will have several rooms to chose from and the prices are outstanding. Breakfast is served in the dining room and they offer one of the best breakfast you can imagine, completed with the Washington Post.

Room Tip: All rooms are great and very charming. Especially the bathrooms!

The Taft Bridge Inn is worth staying here for the location alone. It is a 15 minute walk to the subway and the staff is friendly. The place was exceptionally clean and that goes a long way in my book. I wasn't too happy about paying for parking although I guess it was because I am new to DC that I was shocked by this. Apparently this is a common practice and rationally I do understand. After tax and parking are added in, this B&B starts getting expensive.

I stayed here in May, and I chose this inn again for my stay in September, knowing the inn. The second time was even better with excellent services. This inn is located in a very convenient area in Washington DC as well, and the breakfast is wonderful.

I was having some renovations done on my house and was unable to stay at home during this time. I found the Taft Bridge Inn and its resonable rates and decided to stay there.I couldnt have picked a better place! Jennifer was great, the place was clean, and I was able to stay close to my own neighborhood. I will be having my out of town guests stay there from now on instead of my extra bedroom!

Room Tip: I liked my room on the second floor
