Description: Chevy Chase is our third Washington, DC area location. Launched in February 2012, this 150-seat restaurant includes spacious indoor, outdoor, and private dining seating. Blending traditional and modern elements of Mexican craft and architecture, the warm and vibrant decor features Rosa Mexicano’s signature hues of pinks and purples. Multi-dimensional art work complements rich fabrics and textures, as well as a floor-to-ceiling display of tequila bottles. Directly over the bar and extending into the dining lounge area, the ceiling glows with pink haze lighting that is set against an electric blue tiled cascading water wall, inspired by those at sister Rosa Mexicano locations. The enclosed patio area features a wall of vertical colored glass bands, creating a focal point from the street and exhibiting arrival for the Rosa Mexicano experience that awaits. The restaurant’s location is just steps away from Chevy Chase Pavilion and stores such as Neiman Marcus, Tiffany, Louis Vuitton, Barneys, Gucci and more, among a variety of restaurants and hotels.

we had a reservation for a group of 8 for lunch. About 1/2h after getting there we got the guacamole to share we asked for; then a while later we called our waiter to take the order. After 1h30 in the restaurant we started getting nervous because we had work calling us back to the office. The waiter dismissed our concerns saying he could check but the food would come out before he gets to the kitchen. After 1h45 at the table they brought the food: I had a garden salad instead of the elaborated salad I ordered; another order was missing, and everybody else's was barely warm and looked barely ok. After 2h I got my salad (mango & tuna) and it was tasteless... by that time, like the other table behind us, we complained to the lady who might have been the manager. We asked to get the deserts to go and called them a few times to get our check. ok, they didn't charge for the 2 dish that were missing when they finally served, but it was still quite expensive. We had been there a few weks ago, and although the exerience had been better, the service was a bit slow. We work close by and take out clients often for meals; I will NEVER bring any customer to this restaurant, at least not until they get their act somewhat together. I must say my colleagues had a better experience at the Rosa Mexicano down town, and alsso on the positive sidee their guacamole is quite good. In short, service was the worst I ever experienced, and food was not worth the money.

Newest DC restaurant of New York's Rosa Mexicano (that's their Spanish!) chain (3rd in DC area). Handsome place 2 blocks from the Chevy Chase-DC border, on Wisconsin Ave. Diners can expect the usual very good, table-side guacamole, along with good drinks and exceptional flautas. The parent outfit knows what it is doing with the food, atmosphere, and bar services. This location has a 3-sided front room pushed onto the sidewalk that might be very pleasant in summer (though sunny!). The bar & dining rooms inside were clean, cleverly decorated, and easy to use. Handsome all around -- with very good food. Not inexpensive. Usually, there is easy parking around neighborhood (you might have to pay). Mazza Gallery and many shops a block away for shopping.
