“fantastic brunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

I went to Busboys and Poets with a group of friends that live in DC, and they suggested this place even though we were staying in Arlington. It is that good that we just had to make the trip over. The restaurant itself is in what looks like a developing area but there is plenty near by that does not make it seem remote and out of the way. We called ahead for seating and only had to wait a few minutes for them to push two tables together (for our party of 6).
My husband and I split the breakfast burrito and the Oaxaca omelet. He ordered the homefries and I had the grits which were both AMAZING. Probably some of the tastiest homefries I have had in a long time. Mimosas and Bloody Marys were delicious as well.
The place got busy but there is plenty of room. The decor is neat since it looks like a small bookstore in the front. Lots of funky seating throughout the restaurant.

“Trendy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2014

My son and I ate here and it was good dining. This is a very busy place and the crowd was more bar than dining. It definitely has a buzz about it but really not my scene. I do think it's a must try for the atmosphere and experience. I had the shrimp and sausage creole pasta and it was good. I'm up in the air on whether I would return. The waitress was very slow and really had too many customers to effectively serve. Very trendy!

“Cool cafe with awesome drinks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2014

I came here to see a guest speaker and was impressed with the quality of the food and drinks. Service was great and no one was pushy about ordering food while watching the speaker. The cafe has a funky vibe and is lively but not rowdy. I would definitely come back next time I was in the area.

“Not for the food...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2013

You don't really go for the food, but at this location you go to sit on the patio. It's really all about the patio. The food is ok (service is slow, but considering once you get here - you really don't want to leave...it's ok). The Cullen Room has great events, open mic nights and other things. But, spring, summer and fall in DC - and this patio is a great place to sit and enjoy with drinks and snacks.
