I came to DC having never stayed at a hostel in my life. I'm leaving DC with the hopes that I can stay at more awesome hostels like this one. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the guests were all awesome people, and the hostel itself was a perfect place to lay down and sleep peacefully every night.
The staff have a different event planned each night, with many being oriented towards introducing you to the city and other guests. We went to a beer garden and a karaoke bar on the nights that we went out. Sunday we watched Game of Thrones by a unanimous decision, and the following day we played Cards Against Humanity. All of which helped create an atmosphere for new experiences, and helped break the ice with my fellow hostel-goers.
Beds are comfortable, rooms are cleaned daily, and so are the bathrooms. The downstairs lounge features a large tv, plenty of seating space, am Xbox and wii for streaming or gaming, and there always seemed to be at least 2 employees there to help out.
The location itself is perfectly placed in a safe neighborhood that is close to the metro, 2 large grocery stores (Giant Food and Whole Foods) and it is right next to a stop for the railcar transport in the city. I never had a problem getting to, or back from, the downtown monuments and establishments.
