A proper suite, just the right size for a family visit. The location was perfect easy access to the Capital via the great bus service, plenty of good local restaurants and great shopping.

The hotel offered a really good breakfast, though it was a little crowded at times so getting in early on weekdays. Rooms were a really good size and well equipped but the hotel overall was starting to get tired. Rooms needed a little updating but for the price we paid this was fine.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to be in a quiet location.

My husband and I are in the middle of an extra-long weekend stay in DC at Georgetown Suites, and I want to share just how pleased we are with this jewel. We were not expecting anything special, considering the price and location of the hotel, but we were delightfully surprised upon check-in.

The reception desk is staffed round the clock with wonderfully congenial men who are helpful from the beginning of the day onward. The location of the hotel absolutely can't be beat at 30th and M Street, right in the middle of Georgetown life. Our son lives in Georgetown, and we are one block from his workplace and three blocks from his home. Location really is everything and Georgetown Suites will be our go-to lodging, regardless of what DC area we are visiting.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about in relation to decorating. I couldn't disagree more with those who have complained. Rooms are quite spacious, bigger than a Georgetown studio apartment, with a full kitchen, eating area, sitting area, comfy bed, and nicely-appointed bath offering Bath and Body Works products. The entire place is spotlessly cleaned every afternoon. The decor itself is simple and clean. In fact, this sort of design is quite the trend at upscale hotels in our hometown of Denver.

All in all, we have commented each day that this hotel has been one of our best finds. When our stay comes to an end in a couple of days, we will already be looking forward to our next visit!

This hotel is perfectly adequate and the location is convenient to Georgetown and downtown DC. Note that there are two properties on 29th and 30th Streets. I stayed at the 29th Street one. The room was like a big 1 bedroom apartment from the 70s. Lots of space but very dated. If that works for you, then go for it.

Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We are in the midst of updating the decor in our suites. We are currently working on the rooms in the 30th Street building, and will next start on the suites in our Harbour Building. We plan on renovating the lobby in our Harbour Building later this year. We hope you will stay with us again next time, and let us know how you like the changes!

Safe neighborhood. Lots of shopping and trendy stores nearby. Parking is difficult, though. The entrance to the underground lot is on an adjacent street. Suites are large a clean. Room for a whole family. Given the area, the prices for summer stays are not too bad,

Room Tip: Try for a room facing the courtyard.

Thanks for your comments. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Parking is certainly a premium in the city. We are glad we are able to offer a parking garage for our guests. Our front desk gives detailed directions to the parking garage at check in, so as to minimize confusion. The elevator from the garage goes right up to the hotel.

Visited DC in early June for five nights. My wife and I took my parents to see the sights. I did hours of research into Hotels for location, price, neighborhoods and service. Our research paid off. The reservation staff of Pam and Tonya were patient with our many questions. Upon arrival, the night time desk staff of Derek and Mr. Paul greeted and treated us as VIP's. Peter and Damon handled the bags, taxis and anything else we needed. We had a two bedroom suite at the 30th street location. Everything was clean. Yes, the decor is a little outdated, but service and location made up Our only compliant was the stuffy corridors. The contential breakfast was great, always restocked and full. The location in Georgetown is great. A short walk to many options of Dining. A 2.5 mile taxi ride of $ 12.00 to the sites. Pick this Hotel and enjoy!

Excellent location in downtown Georgetown. However the pictures don't do justice, property needs major upgrading. Equipment is from the 80s including room decor. Only upgrade is the flat screen TVs. Saving grace is the great location. But that's no reason to leave the property as is.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your feedback. We do recognize the need to keep things fresh and updated. We recently completed a total renovation and expansion of the lobby at our 30th Street location and plans are underway to complete the Harbour location later this year. We are in process of updating all of the kitchens including new flooring, cabinetry, appliances and granite countertops and are about 70% complete. Older cultured marble bath counters are being replaced with granite and older shower doors are being replaced with heavy duty high-end units. All of the case goods (desks, dressers, etc) have been updated along with new luxury linens. We are in process of replacing old bed skirts with updated platform bed frames and changing out desk and table lighting. We are also excited to be working with a design team to assist with updating artwork, wall covering and color schemes in the guest rooms. We have also just completed installation of a new state of the art wireless internet system with 100mb upload and download speeds. Continuing this work is our top priority
We hope to have you stay with us again in the future, and please let us know how you like the improvements!

We picked this hotel based on its location and the facts that it had a full kitchen and served breakfast. The cons: The hotel room itself is a bit dated, bathroom is small and not much counter space to accommodate four people (3 women - we have a lot of stuff!) and would have preferred a regular queen bed instead of a pull out sofa bed which is not as comfortable. The pros: THE FRONT DESK CLERK JEFFREY! He was so friendly, helped us with metro and bus info, gave us many helpful hints, arranged a taxi, checked us in for our flight and always had a great attitude and friendly smile! He was a standout for awesome customer service! The hotel's location is awesome! Very close to great shopping, dining and transportation. The hotel (Jeffrey) also gave us discount coupons for local restaurants. Really liked having a separate bedroom and two TV's! The breakfast each morning was great and helped us keep costs down. However, the breakfast area is small and becomes really crowded with everyone trying to get to the counter area. Overall, the nightly rate was good for the area and it was great to have access to a full kitchen. We would definitely stay here again. Solid 4.5 stars out of 5!
