Description: Our DC location opened its doors on May 26, 2011 -- it's our first location outside Manhattan! We serve the same Maine-style menu -- lobster, crab and shrimp rolls, and bisque and chowder -- in a Down East-inspired shack.

“Simply Super!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Zero points for ambience, seating, sizzle...HOWEVER, Luke and his mates provide (in their own manic but matter-of-fact way) one helluva meal. The photo of lobster or crab in a warm and toasty bun with a bag of chips and a Peak Organic IPA is just what you get for $20. Too much? I think not. There's a lot of real big chunks of lobster in the roll I purchased with a tasty Winter Ale. I'll stack that up against the processed, cheeselike-substance nachos and overpriced euro-Bud beer at the Verizon Center any day. As a NYer who grew up in the land of super-Delis, I can also say that the accompanying pickle spear was the perfect crispy palate refresher and compliment to the lobster. Yeah, the lobster meat is cold, but tastes great in the warm bun. Great beer choices and plenty of potato chip options as well...though I highly recommend the jalapeno chips with a lobster roll and your choice of beers. You can get a great meal and walk out the door in ten minutes, or chill out, watch the world go by and even pick up a t-shirt. Either way, Luke has kept it simple, but delivers what counts!

“A DC Gem”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

My friends and I stumbled upon this place while walking around DC and absolutely loved it! It's rather small, a bit pricey and seating and the menu are limited, but if you can get over those things, it really is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat. I had the limited edition Lobster Grilled Cheese and it was delicious. I would definitely go back when I'm in the area!

“Quick & tasty”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

A short menu, but all items we tried were good. Meaty lobster rolls were daubed in butter and very delicious. It's also very reasonably priced. However, there are very few seats, and if you get there at noon, expect to stand or take away if it's a busy day.

“Great stop on the way to the Caps game!”
Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

Lobster roll was yummy and fresh - roll and butter were probably not that healthy. Limited menu and little to no seating but a good quick pick up on the way to the game as its super close to the Verizon Center. Would go back.

“Simple - and simply delicious”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

Luke's menu is simple - they have lobster rolls, crab rolls and shrimp rolls, as well as various chowders and crab claws and a few other items. I'm a huge fan of both the lobster roll and crab roll. They are pricey, but actually a great value. They are very generous with the amount of meat in the roll - it's normally overflowing from its bun and there isn't really any filler.

You can order your roll without butter/mayo/spices/etc., which I always do - I like just the plain lobster or crab meat without any additions. The crab roll is actually my favorite. I could eat it every single day. :)

Service is always very friendly. The people working there actually seem happy to be there. :) This location tends to get crazy busy at lunchtime on weekdays as the office-worker crowd descends on it, so I'd recommend going on the later side when it's calmer (including the after-work/dinner timeframe) so you won't have to wait in line. It's a very tiny space and there are a few places to sit, but not that many (weather permitting, there are some tables outdoors now too). On a nice-weather day, it's pleasant to get some rolls to go and eat them sitting on the Navy Memorial plaza watching the fountain (and/or watching a concert on the plaza on Tuesday nights in season) or on the National Mall.

Their catering is also excellent - I just ordered a large number of mini lobster rolls and mini crab rolls for a party last weekend and they were ready on time, delicious/perfectly prepared, and nicely packaged.
