“Very strongly recommended, beautiful and inspiring”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Regardless of age, race or politics, this is an awesome place. The architect did a superb job. You will be deeply moved. STRONGLY recommended. This and FDR memorial are a 5 minute walk from each other. You can learn a lot that's very relevant today by visiting both.
Also, very good bookshop right across the street.

“Inspirational”

Another of the must see monuments in Washington DC, and this one is extremely emotional and captures the feeling of the struggle of the African Americans perfectly.

“Dr. King Memorial”

Visited the memorial at night time and found it to be more than I had anticipated. It was well lit. I highly recommended it as an educational experience for families.

“Very nice monument”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

This memorial evoked feelings of both strength and calm, which is a perfect fit for the man. We loved being able to stroll past the walls and read his words, and realizing how applicable they still are within today's sociopolitical context. Very nice addition to the DC monument scene.
