I was kicking myself after booking this place via Priceline and then reading the reviews on this board. Sounded like it was located in the middle of nowhere. However, what made up for its location is the free shuttle bus which connects G'town U with downtown. So, here's my pros/cons/tips of this hotel:

Pros:
=========
* Comfy Beds
* Friendly Staff
* Food Court located in the hospital
* Free Shuttle Bus

Cons:
=========
* Parking is $25/day (ouch!)
* Location - Not near any sights
* Small Bath

Tips:
=========
* Use the shuttle bus to get around - it leaves every 20 minutes
* Park elsewhere - I stayed for 6 nights so I parked in a mall garage. This might not work for everyone.
* Internet - Don't pay the room internet. Go to the student lounge and use it for free

We just returned from a 5 night stay at the Georgetown University Marriott Hotel and did not have a typical Marriott experience. This hotel is in the most bizarre location and is really only good if you are staying there for a conference that is in the hotel or if you are visiting someone in the hospital. The hotel is literally on the campus and you need to drive through a couple of parking lots to get there. A couple of our cab drivers didn’t even know where it was so be sure to bring an address with you or you will spend unnecessary time driving around. The place is so secluded and there are NO restaurants/stores other than the hotel restaurant and a couple of fast food restaurants in the food court which were closed most of the time we were there. The main drag of Georgetown is at least a 20 minute walk through the campus. We are in our 30’s so the walk wasn’t too bad, but if you have any problems walking long distances or up hills you can only go places by taxi. We got sick of making this walk every time we wanted to go anywhere so we ended up spending a fortune on taxi rides instead.

The Marriott name is no where to be found on the hotel entrance or anywhere in the hotel except for the stationary in the room. I’m not sure what the relationship is but this hotel is not up to the Marriott standards that we are used to. The service is absolutely HORRIBLE here. The front desk staff, except for one man that worked the night shift, threw major attitude every time we asked for anything and they were not helpful on any issues we asked them. One night we called to ask where the nearest convenience store was in the area and they sent us on a 30 minute walk when we come to find out later that there is one on campus. Also, when we had to ask the desk for a taxi to be called a second time (because this hotel is in no mans land and they never made it there in the first place) they asked us what they wanted us to do about it because they already called once and had no intention of calling a second time . They were the rudest staff we have ever dealt with. I even overheard another guest asking for directions to a place on campus, and the front desk clerk said “What do you want me to do; I don’t know where you are going”. It was absolutely ridiculous.

The rooms themselves are okay and the hotel should really be classified as a Courtyard or even a Fairfield Inn. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom was very cheap to us. The room service was overpriced and the food was ok.

Bottom line if your conference is in this hotel you will be fine but if you are coming for pleasure do not stay here!

Arrived very later and had no problem checking in. The bed was super comfy complete with many pillows and a down comforter. The tv also had 5 HBO channels which was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful and if you don't want to eat at their cafe, there is a Starbucks on the premises as well.

The location seems to be a bit far from most of the DC action, but worth the price.

This hotel is located right on the University campus next to the hospital; perfect if you are a prospective student, visiting someone at the hospital or anything having to with the university; for your average sightseer, lots of walking or cabs.

After having this hotel chosen for me from a "name your own price" website, I was pleased with the quality and value. The beds were absolutely wonderful, and the room was clean and well appointed (Bath and Body Works). I treated myself to room service breakfast, and was very impressed with the presentation.

The hotel is attached to the hospital, which is not a problem. However, it was a little hard to find. if you want to walk to/from the heart of Georgetown, you had better bring your walking shoes. There is a city bus that will take you from the front of the hospital to several Metro stops, but it is about a 30 minute ride. I was disappointed in the location from a traveler's perspective!
