“Nice Hotel/Poor Location for Sightseeing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2006

This hotel is located right on the University campus next to the hospital; perfect if you are a prospective student, visiting someone at the hospital or anything having to with the university; for your average sightseer, lots of walking or cabs.

After having this hotel chosen for me from a "name your own price" website, I was pleased with the quality and value. The beds were absolutely wonderful, and the room was clean and well appointed (Bath and Body Works). I treated myself to room service breakfast, and was very impressed with the presentation.

The hotel is attached to the hospital, which is not a problem. However, it was a little hard to find. if you want to walk to/from the heart of Georgetown, you had better bring your walking shoes. There is a city bus that will take you from the front of the hospital to several Metro stops, but it is about a 30 minute ride. I was disappointed in the location from a traveler's perspective!

I got this hotel as a result of a priceline match. I was very impressed with the room, the king size bed and pillows were very comfortable. My 1 year old son had a blast playing on the bed. If requested, they provide a microwave, refridgerator and crib at no extra cost. The room overall was very clean and impressive. The only disadvantage was availability of parking facilities. They have a parking garage that costs $25/ day, off-street parking is available but only for 2 or 4 hours after which the car needs to be moved.

I stayed at this hotel while a family member was in the hospital. The hospital arranged for the "Special" rates for family members. The rate was still over $200.00. Later I found out that there are four star hotels in the area that offer $99 rates. Pros: the beds were comfortable, rooms clean. Cons: the construction noise right outside my window, rooms small, entrance is hard to drive up to.

My company held its Christmas party in the hotel ballroom this year. The hotel offered $99 rates for guests who didn't want to drive home after the party. So my perspective is that of a local.

The hotel is right in the middle of Georgetown Hospital, which is a bit strange, and it is connected to the University bookstore and other university functions.

The room was nice, clean and quiet. Bath & Body Works toiletries (good stuff). The bed was the best--one of those new Revive beds. I slept like a baby. No view to speak of, but as a local, I really didn't care. I enjoyed walking around in Georgetown and acting like a tourist.

I look forward to next year's Christmas party and staying here again.

I read lot of negative reviews about this hotel but needed to stay here for some medical testing for our son. I was worried about the cleanliness due to some neg comments so I wrote the hotel in advance of our visit. Our room was very clean, new bedding etc. The hotel staff was exceptionally nice to us. They knew we were coming for some transplant testing for our young son and went out of their way to make our stay special. They sent some treats to our room, greeted us personally each time we went backand forth and made my son feel very special. we will be back

Do NOT stay here. This is supposidly a Marriott property, but not really. Don't come here and expect a Marriott. To me this was about the quality of an old holiday inn. The rooms were OLDDD, needed updating in a bad way. There is no where to unload your bags. Also, i noticed the Marriott name is nowhere to be found, other thah the stationary in the room. I would say this is done on purpose...I wouldnt claim this hotel either. Our toilet didnt flush well (you know, flush twice, and hope it works), its the kind of place where i didnt want to walk around without my shoes, the walls were dirty (looks like they used a flat paint..so every smudge stayed). Just all around not good.
