“Not bad, GREAT location!!!”
Reviewed October 9, 2006

Hotel was very accomodating. Rooms were average but service made up for it. They have a great breakfast each morning down at the restaurant. You can bill to your room or pay there. The underground transit is right across the street under a building. made for very EASY commuting to major attraction sites. There is a deli across the street that is really good! I would stay again just because of the convienence.

I have been a frequent guest at this hotel and I have always been pleased with the service and cleanliness. However, I wanted to comment on the recent renovations that have been done. The rooms and hallways are warm and inviting with splashes of red, gold and tan accents. The granite countertops in the kitchen and bath areas provide an elegant and sophisticated look. The beds are very comfortable and the additional furnishings are sleek, yet functional. Of course, the complimentary breakfast and evening snack are convenient and tasty. The hotel continues to provide a friendly, well-trained staff. I can't imagine that anyone would be dissappointed with their stay at this hotel. I'm certainly looking forward to my next visit.

I periodically visit DC on business, and keep trying various locations (Dupont, Crystal City, Key Bridge area, downtown) to see what might be best whenever I can bring my family back for a vacation. I've stayed twice in the Dupont Circle area and love it. Hotel is 2 blocks from Dupont. Dupont Circle itself is a big grassy area with a fountain in the middle and sidewalks & benches all around. Immediately surrounding it are a zillion restaurants (no chains), a CVS Pharmacy, bookstores, etc. In the evening people stroll about and congregate on sidewalks, performers play music, families push baby strollers, young women are able to walk alone (safe), etc. The Metro is perhaps a 3 block walk from the hotel, so you don't need to rent a car if you fly into National (Metro-served) and plan to just see DC city sites. Get a Metro map online to decide if you need a car. Parking is expensive at any DC hotel ($23/day here), so be forewarned. Hotel staff were all very friendly, they took care of a minor maintenance item in my room immediately, bed was great, kitchen area welcome/useful, breakfast welcome and good. Mimi's Restaurant right outside front entrance good - welcome when it rained one night. Room not luxury, views are of city area around it. Don't be put off by that picture of the hotel - yes it looks like that, but is set in an area of numerous unique/older houses - not gross high rises like Crystal City or Key Bridge area. I recommend this place.

We have stayed at the Residence Inn at Dupont Circle three times now, over two years. We love the location, comfort, safety, and value for the price. These benefits are covered well by the other reviewers. We chose the hotel for a one week vacation and have just arrived home. The big news: while we were there all the mattresses were upgraded to comfortable, but supportive, brand new high quality mattresses - a terrific and much-appreciated improvement. On another topic, we also enjoyed having the coin-op laundries in the building.

Very large suite with seperate bedroom, full kitchen.Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent buffet breakfast/hot eggs/toast and waffle maker. Easy walk to Dupont circle Metro. No restaurants within walking distance suitable for kids though but there was an excellent delivery service for pizza/pasta.Supermarket practicallynext door. Felt very safe walking around that locality.
