It is rare that I am thoroughly impressed with an entire hotel staff, but the team at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown did just that. I had the pleasure of bringing 10 clients to a user group meeting this past week. From the moment I walked in, I found the staff sharp, attentive and accommodating. Whether the request was large or small the answer was always yes. It was nice to be able to lean on a group of people that were dedicated to seeing you succeed and know that you could count on them for whatever. Meeting space was excellent for our group, had some special AV adjustments that the staff made for our presentation, and the food was great. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a coffee maker. The location is super convenient with Metro across the street and dining around every corner. I would highly recommend to any business professional and wouldn't hesitate to hold another business event there. The property came highly recommended and the staff delivered.

Room Tip: Some rooms are right next to the elevator - simply ask for a room a good distance from the lift.

This property is an easy walk from most of Washington's attractions including the White House, the Washington Monument and the Treasury. There are also plenty of joints nearby where you can get good burgers and soda

Good location (across street from McPherson Sq Metro) and a great breakfast buffet. Fitness center and small indoor pool. Helpful staff and clean room. I noticed that they upgraded the mattress recently - very nice. Generally a good value.

Huge comfy bed and above average room size. The staff were polite, friendly and extremely helpful. I dropped an earring down the sink and they gladly helped get it out which was no trouble at all and dismissed it as nothing. Very central. Doorman call you a cab in a minute. Full service coffee pod machine in the room. Free wifi. We really enjoyed our stay.

I stayed 12 nights in this hotel with my daughter and two granddaughters. The location is perfect – across the street from the MacPherson Metro Station and within walking distance to the U.S. Capitol, the White House, the National Mall, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced, and room service was excellent. All the hotel staff members were cheerful and helpful. Security was excellent: a room key must be swiped in the elevator in order to select a floor, and the desk staff greets everyone as they enter or exit the lobby.

Our room was equipped with only one luggage rack, but they immediately supplied three more so each of us could use one. There was bar-size refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee machine that was re-supplied with coffee, tea, etc. every day. The only negative (which turned out to be less inconvenient than we anticipated) is that the two beds were full-size instead of queen and each bed had 3 pillows instead of 4. However, we were so tired by the end of each day of sightseeing that we gladly fell into our beds and slept soundly. Had we requested extra pillows, I have no doubt the staff would have supplied them. The bedding was European style with sheets & a duvet -- thankfully no bedspread. Our shower had plenty of water pressure and more than enough hot water. There was a thermostat in our room to control the wall heater temperature.

Within a block or so, there are sandwich shops, a CVS pharmacy, and Starbucks coffee. Being across the street from a Metro station that could take us to everything we wanted to see made staying at this hotel a near perfect experience. The Metro can easily take one from Reagan Airport to MacPherson Station. Pre-purchase a Metro SmartTrip Pass on-line before your trip. We were so glad to already have them in our possession when we arrived so we could begin sightseeing right away. We used just shy of $50 in fees over our 13 day stay. We rode the Metro every day and we took several long trips to Mount Vernon, the Pentagon and beyond. The trains run frequently and on time. All the stations we went into, and all the trains we rode were clean and felt very safe.

Room Tip: Our room faced 14th Street, on the 8th floor almost directly above the lobby. There was street noise one night from a nightclub, but it wasn't distracting to us. Light sleepers might want to face away from the street on weekend nights. We enjoyed watching the street activity from our windows and a little noise on one night was a small price to pay.
