Family stayed here during Oct 2012 Weekend visit. Excellent location - easy walking to Wh House and Monuments/Mall. OUTSTANDING breakfast selection & quality including waffles & omelets plus standard buffet items. Metro Station is literally across street from front door and very convenient. Suite room was nice with quality bedding, furnishings, toiletries however views and layout were only satisfactory. Disappointing pool and fitness room.

This hilton garden inn had great rooms, awesome lobby, restaurant downstairs, and was within walking distance to many sights. (Real close to the White House for example).

The metro station is right accross the street so you can get anywhere in the city that you want.

Has a laundry room on the 5th floor. (Coin operated. Very tiny but got the job done).

We ate at a lot of the Cosi and Potbelly casual dining restaurants. Each chain has about 15 to 20 locations in the city. We also recommend visiting the Newseum!

The location is really great close to pretty much everything. I would give it a 5 but had some minor issue but it was resolved as well. The room is clean but the room we were given has a problem with the floor. We were switch to another room & had also upgraded us.
My daughter love the indoor pool which we are not prepared so we have to look around to get a bathing suit.
We are coming back to DC this weekend I am still looking around for another hotel but we might end up to this one again coz of the location.

We spent three nights here in mid October. Although I used Honors points to upgrade to a mini suite (which was fine) the view was the opposite side of the hotel and the air conditioning units on the roof below. We were on the fourth floor but the noise was very intrusive, so much so that we had to turn off the aircon in the room which was also very noisy. As I said above, the room was fine, clean and well appointed. This must be a very business oriented hotel as there was a very different clientele by Sunday night compared with a more touristy feel from Friday through Sunday morning but that is not a problem. We took breakfast in the Grist Mill which has a reasonable selection and a good omelette station. Great location to see all the sights and close to the Metro if needed. Plenty of restaurants locally and we felt very safe walking at night. I would recommend the hotel but ask for a room that faces the street which I assume would be much quieter.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces 14th Street

My wife & I spent three nights here, about a month ago, and found it to be very comfortable & convenient for seeing some of the many important features of Washington, D.C. The White House (well worth taking the tour - contact your legislator to apply) is only about three blocks away, and several of the major museums are also within easy walking distance. Their cafe serves a good breakfast, for a reasonable price, and several excellent restaurants are also only a few blocks away. Our king-bed room was clean & comfortable; and, with AARP discount, was only $160/ night + taxes, which is very reasonable for big-city lodging. The timing of your visit may make a big difference in the price, so check their calendar, if you have a choice.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference in D.C. and really enjoyed the location. The price however was quite high ($459 per night) I am unsure if this was due to the conference or just the overall advantage of the location. You will find yourself blocks away from the White House and Mall. Everything you need is w/i walking distance. The hotel itself is nice and what you would expect for a HGI. I found the staff to be helpful and the rooms to well appointed and clean. I am a Diamond member and requested a high level room to overlook the Mall. I was unable to accomplish this request due to the high number of individuals staying at the hotel while I was there. Overall, not a bad stay. Just watch for a better rate in the area.

If you're looking for a clean, comfortable hotel with a wonderful staff, an excellent location, and a great value, look no further. My Dad and I spent the weekend in DC and had a great time, and the quality of the Hilton Garden Inn was a big reason.

Cleanliness - The housekeeping staff really knows what they're doing. I didn't see anything in any part of the hotel that even caused me to raise an eyebrow, never mind complain.

Comfort - I felt at home right away. If you're using a wired internet connection, you'll find jacks on the desk lamp AND both bedside lamps. At the desk you'll find a comfortable, modern, office-type chair. It's easy to miss the fact that your bed has adjustable firmness, and the dial is directly on the mattress, underneath the sheets. I slept like a rock!

Location - You're close to a lot: superior museums, great restaurants, and famous monuments along the Mall. If what you're looking for is more than a few blocks away, take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with Washington's Metro system - there's a station right across the street. Cabs are readily available, too, but it's nice to know you won't have to spend $50 every time you leave the hotel!

Staff - We were impressed. An unpleasant staff can ruin your stay, but that wasn't a problem here. Everyone we talked to was nice, but two really stood out. Raquel, at the front desk, was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and we said hello every time we came through the lobby. Nikko, our server at dinner, was nice to talk to and took very good care of us.

Food - Good. Breakfast was on the better side of average. Yummy and good quality, but nothing surprising. Omelets and waffles are made on the spot. Dinner is better, though. Hotel restaurants generally don't have the best reputation, but this one is worth your attention. If nothing else, have a seat at the bar and order the lamb lollipops appetizer. Yes, I said lamb lollipops. Trust me.

Room Tip: Noise can be an issue in any city, and that isn't something the hotel can control. If it's a...
