We stayed at this hotel for a week during a recent family trip to Washington DC. The hotel had everything we could want and a perfect location. There was a small bistro in the basement with a walk up counter for ordering cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, pancakes, egg dishes, etc, and a moderate number of tables. The service was terrific, and everything was tasty. There was also a small pool, perfect for kids, and a jacuzzi, on the basement level, as well as a fitness room. The hotel staff, valet and maids were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The hotel was within walking distance of the Smithsonian museums, National Archives, many restaurants, most monuments, the White House, etc. It was also across the street from the Spy Museum, which the kids loves. Overall, a great hotel in a perfect location.

Room Tip: We got a room with 2 double beds and pull out coach, which comfortably could sleep 2 adults and 2 ki...

My wife and I stayed here on a Saturday night in June. This hotel has the known quality associated with the Marriott Courtyard line of hotels and is in an excellent location. The hotel building itself is interesting, dating back to the turn of 19th to 20th Century. The Metro stop is diagonally across the street (be sure to take the 9th St and not 7th St exit). In the same building as the hotel is Gordon Biersch brewery, great for late night food and drinks. A nearby upscale restaurant is Proof, which offers excellent food, outside dining, and without the noise of Zantinya. Down the street from the hotel for a nice breakfast is Le Pain Quotidien. Across the street is the National Portrait Gallery, a lesser known but really excellent museum with good permanent and generally several fun temporary exhibitions. Within easy walking are the Shakespeare Theater Company (two theaters) as well as the Smithsonian museums on the mall. You get the idea . . . this is a great place for a home base for nice weekend getaway in DC.

Took the kids to DC for the first time and booked the Marriott Convention Center due to its proximity to the DC sights. The hotel is beautiful and the location it excellent for families wanting to see the sights. The problem is that upon checking in, our car was crashed by the valet. The valet took our information and comped us the (high) valet fee. The hotel handling of the issue leaves much to be desired and I would not recommend this hotel based on that. The attitude from the front desk people was that the valet is a separate business and they were doing me such a favor by giving me a room discount and free breakfast for my family of four. If a valet takes cars from your customers then you are involved in a big way Marriott.

Stayed here one night for business and regret not extending travel to enjoy nearby attractions. This is the perfect location to catch an Uber ride (cheaper than taxi) to get anywhere you don't want to walk to. Concierge was more than helpful and room accommodations are consistent with Marriott standards I've come to appreciate. Room was spacious. Be prepared to pay $38/nt valet parking fee if you drive. A wonderful H&M clothing store is right across the street.

Room Tip: I enjoyed the 9th floor

Was a little fearful at time of booking because of the "Convention Center" in hotel's name, but this place was awesome. The room was clean and with amble space. It was close to Verizon center, metro rail and bus, eateries, museums, and China town. The staff was wonderful, had a problem in room that was resolved quickly and efficiently. Did not eat at hotel, too many other places to choose from, concierge was very informative and not pushy, valets took very good care of my car and yes I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Double check Room Occupancy/Size before booking.
