“Wonderful location. Great hotel”

The Warman Marriot is located close to the zoo and a mile north of Dupont Circle, and a nice walk to Adams Morgan. The hotel is nice, the rooms are comfortable and the service is good. It's a good venue for a conference. The metro stop is at the bottom of the driveway and it's an easy commute to many places in the District. Nice restaurants in the area. Food service in the hotel is just OK.

I've stayed at the Marriott Wardman Park for business more times than I can count, probably a good two dozen times over the years. My last visit was earlier this year, and after about a day or two of running around the hotel (I was there for a convention), I noticed something that I'd never seen in a hotel of this size before: every single staff member -- from front desk to housekeeping to restaurant to security -- was always smiling and giving a friendly greeting. Something I found even more impressive given the crowds of people filling the hotel and common areas. My review is more of a shout-out to all those employees. The hotel itself is perfectly fine -- it's centrally located with metro and restaurants around the corner, and the rooms are nice (tip: if you like big old-fashioned rooms, ask to be in the old tower section).

Room Tip: Man of the rooms in the old tower section are larger and reminiscent of old quality independent hote...

This is a huge hotel, popular with conventions. It used to be a Sheraton some years ago, and I had stayed there on a business trip. This time we were visiting Washington as tourists, for Thanksgiving. The location, as others have noted, is excellent: you can take the subway from the airport, and get off steps from the hotel. There are a number of restaurants on Connecticut, within easy walking distance. The hotel itself has a restaurant, a bar, and a place for snacks.

We did encounter a problem when we checked in--the room we were given had not been cleaned (and may still have been occupied). However, when we went down and mentioned this at the desk, we were upgraded to a suite, so no complaints about the staff! And when we asked for extra blankets (it was unusualy cold), they were brought up promptly.

The location of this hotel is fabulous. The metro is literally around the corner and the Zoo is a simple 10-15 minute walk away.

The hotel itself looks great in the lobby areas. Finding your room is another story in and of itself. We had to ask the front desk two times how to get to our room and both times we were told "go to the left". In actuality, we had to go up an escalator, to the right, and THEN to the left. I think we needed a map handed to us when we checked in.

Our room wasn't bad. The bed was comfortable. The second double bed had what looked like pizza grease stains on the sheets. The vent in the shower was so caked with dust it was clumping. The bottom of the bathtub had random black stains on it.

We were only there for one night so it filled a need and a purpose but I doubt we will ever book a stay here again.

Room Tip: When you check in make sure that you ask them what tower you are in.

Recently I traveled to D.C. with my husband on business. The hotel booked for us was Marriott Wardman Park. The building seems to be an old one linked to a newer building, so this spacious hotel has a very odd layout. To get to the room we had been given, we had to walk through several lobby areas and down a long hall to the only elevator that accessed our floor. Our king room was very nice, but small with a very small bathroom. It had a safe and a little frig which helped a lot! And the location of the hotel was awesome! It was 2 or 3 blocks to the zoo where we enjoyed the Christmas Zoo Lights for free. And the Metro stop was around the corner from the hotel entrance. Several really good restaurants and a McDonalds were all within easy walk.

Stayed one night here at this very impressive looking hotel from outside. Aside from being
extremely large and confusing hotel, it was shared with a mass of humanity for some
business weekend. For $300 plus a night, our room was tired. Bathroom was small with
no exhaust fan when showering. Poor drainage and beds were not up to Marriott standards.
Very disappointing for a Marriott property. If your not with large business group...stay somewhere
else.

Enjoyed a quick overnight at the Marriott Wardman Park back in September. This was not the first time we've stayed here. Overall stay was fine as usual. The hotel is HUGE, the rooms are not but they are suitable for the area. The corridors are starting to stThe pub in the hotel is very nice and the service was wonderful. Our only complaint was the large (100+) group of young students who were running through the lobby area at 11pm. My guess is the hotel thought it best to have them running around the lobby versus room corridors but it was still a bit dysfunctional.
