“Nice museum”

I would include it on the list of places to go to if your time allows, but it is not a "must" stop. The displays are informative, with some interesting historical tidbits. Staff very courteous.

“Great fun for young and old”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

My kids and I loved learning all about the history of the Postal Service. It was full of facts and lots of hands on items for the kids. The volunteers were extremely friendly and knoweledgable.

“Do it!”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

I have so much more respect and appreciation for the US Postal Service after going to this museum. First of all, It's open on Sundays! Second of all, it has so many exhibits: handreading machines, old postal rail cars, stamp collections, and an exhibit on the Pony Express just to name a few. I've been twice and both times it has not been crowded at all. I would allow 2-3 hours for this museum.

“Straight Forward”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Didn't even realize this museum existed until I was visiting Union Station with a friend and we stumbled upon it. The best part is it is actually in original Post Office Building for the city of D.C. The exhibits are in the basement and I love how simple and straight forward the material is present so you can really understand what they are trying to convey. Good way to spend a half an hour or maybe more time....

Great timeline of the postal service in America. Great activities for kids. Large, interesting collection of stamps. So many different stamps, everyone will find one that they will enjoy, Disney, sports figures, animals, etc...
