As someone who has access to craft fairs and art festivals, this really wasn't that impressive. It's alright, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit and definitely wouldn't bother going back.

A nice diversion when the crowds around the monuments and museums are too much. it has an indoor produce and meat market and the outdoor stalls mainly see jewelry and knick knacks you would find at a street fair. There is also a flea market in an adjacent lot which had more interesting things for sale.

Eastern Market is a really fun place to browse on a nice day. Part flea market, part open air produce market, part art fair, there's plenty to choose from, including jewelry, pottery, clothing, used/antique furniture. There are also some nice shops next to the market and several very nice cafe-type restaurants. Part of DC most tourists don't get to see.

The market is a combination of permanent indoor shops and outdoor tents stands. You can get cheese and apples or jewelry and painting, etc. Get snacks or souvenirs, whatever you need. We got food to have a picnic here and it was perfect.

The food and shops have pretty good prices for an open-air market. Just wander around until you see something you like! It's also a fantastic place for people watching.

The market in the original building is open every day, but go during a weekend when the street vendors are all over the place - clothing, furniture, jewelry, candles, photos, art work, and food! And there are several excellent restaurants in this block - suggest Acqua Al 2, where we had a fantastic lunch.
