We’ve just had a 3 hour sunset monument bike tour with Simon - it was fabulous!
Simon was great, knowledgeable, told us loads of interesting facts and really looked after all our party of various age ranges. The bikes are comfy and easy to ride.
We’d definitely say it’s a must do when visiting Washington.

Our family (parents and kids ages 12, 10 and 10) decided to rent bikes so we could tour at our pace without a group. Reasonable rentals rates by the hour or a flat fee for the day. About 30 minutes into the trip, one of the bikes had a brake line to stop working- I called and Mike immediately met us at the Washington Monument with a replacement bike— fantastic service! It started raining at one point, and we discovered plastic rain ponchos had been placed in the front bag of the bikes. Would highly recommend this as an option to see DC.

Highly recommend Fat Tire bike tours! 5 star, must go! My 16yo son and I had been to many of the DC monuments and museums and we were looking for something different for the afternoon. This bike tour was a great overview of DC, and our guide Luke was extremely informed and highly entertaining. He provided all kinds of fun facts and trivia tidbits about historical events and political personalities. Places visited but not all: Old Eisenhower Office, Blair House, PA Ave, White House, Lafayette Square, National Archives, Navy Memorial, Capitol, National Mall, Smithsonian Bldgs, Washington Monument, Old Post Office, African American Museum, Korean War monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, WW2 Memorial, Reflecting pool and FBI. On the way back to their office you ride up a short hill by the State Dept. The bike ride itself is easy to moderate: there are many stops, bathroom break and they provide water and sunscreen. I wore flip flops and was fine, but preferred tennis shoes. There are a ton of photo ops and the tour runs on time so we took tons of pics, but did not linger so we could see everything. Overall it was an amazing experience!

We had 3 hours in town to see all of DC quickly. Fat Tire Tours made our visit exceptional. While we have lots of experience with Segway tours elsewhere, I can say that this one is a truly exceptional value. The guide was very nice, the equipment was excellent, and the office staff was outstanding at helping us navigate our way to their location as we were cutting our time very tight. We took the National Mall tour! Just perfect!
