Description: From the spirit of freedom in artistic creation, liberation from culinary mediocrity, and emancipation from the ordinary, LINCOLN is an expression of artistic collaborations in gastronomy, mixology and design. Savor our seasonal American small plate menu crafted from fresh ingredients supplied by local & regional farms. LINCOLN pays tribute to one of our greatest US Presidents, with nods to many of his favorite foods including oysters, gingerbread and chicken pot pie. If you’re thirsty for cocktails that are truly one-of-a-kind, our barkeeps, have created one of the city’s freshest bar programs highlighted by mason jars featuring infused bourbons and DC's first moonshine-list served in antique-style copper cups. In warm weather months enjoy our patio offering panoramic views of DC’s urban landscape. Original paintings and a distinctive interior design by homegrown pop artist, Maggie O’Neill make LINCOLN a feast for the senses at Lunch, happy hour, dinner or after dark.

“Nice for Client Luncheons; Great for Drinks!”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

Lincoln has a nice casual menu for easy, but classy client luncheaons or family dinners. I like it, becayse it has a certain eye and menu appeal, without breaking the bank. Service is excellent, and the bar is a sophisticated watering hole-- again, without breaking the bank. Rooms for private parties are competitively priced for neat decor and, of course, the endless penny-counting competition.

“I'd eat here again!”
Reviewed August 25, 2011

We enjoyed the atmospher and the food very much. The hostesses and wait staff were super friendly and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Delicious food that was served on small plates and brought to our table as soon as prepared. Fun place! Love the foor made of pennies.

“Loud and Overpriced”
Reviewed August 6, 2011

The Abe Lincoln theme is taken too far here. The entire floor and some of the walls are lined with pennies, making the place unbearably loud. Service was also slow on this night, and the small plates were pricy for the sizes.

“Savor the flavors.”
Reviewed June 26, 2011

Stopped in for cocktails and found they had an interesting selection of house specialties. Their desserts were reasonably priced, but small. However, none I tried of either the drinks or desserts were short of flavor. Each plate.was like an edible work of art. They should be eaten slowly with respect for their flavors.

Citizen Cake in San Francisco was similar to this cuisine, for those familiar.

If you are looking for a family place, or a filling meal, this is NOT the place to go. Lincoln caters to a nicely dressed 20-30-something crowd and can be very loud.

I was hoping for a wider selection, but was happy with fudge cake and a Mai-Tai.

“Refreshingly Different...”
Reviewed June 16, 2011

My friends and I decided to have dinner here prior to heading to the Kennedy Center for a show. Just before we headed out, I read Open Table reviews and was concerned about the recurring theme of poor service. Would we make it to the theater in time?? Fortunataly, we arrived at opening time for dinner: 5:00. (The bar was already in full swing). We sat at one of the cool white leather booths by the windows. This was a good thing since we were spared the din of music from the speakers overhead in most of the dining room, and the overall noise of the other customers. Our waiter was great and made some excellent recommendations for custom drinks and entrees. He really pushed a 'beet juice' based drink and we were not disappointed by its unique flavor. Another person ordered a Cosmo which was very different from the norm, but it was very pleasant and refreshing. Each of us ordered two 'tapas' sized items which were all very good and presented with style. The duck, and also the crab salad (actually more like a crab summer roll) were my favorites, but only slightly better than everything else, i.e. nothing disappointed. Plan to order several item for the table and share. The noise grew by the time we left, so I can see this as a loud an hopping place by the time the late dinner crowd rolls in. But... for our pre-theater dinner, it was perfect. I think they are still perfecting the service, but we had nothing to complain about, having arrived so early. Although we sat in the main dining room by the windows, we saw that there were other, more private dining rooms in the back of the restaurant. This is really great space and it's evident that the owners/management are trying very hard to make this a success. (We learned that it just opened in April, 2011.) Keep it up! Great food, great service (as long as it's early) and great concept.
