“Paris in Chevy Chase”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

Terasol is exactly what's missing from most of D.C. -- a small, family-owned cafe with authentic French classics. If you like chain restaurants, you won't be happy here. But if you want to dream (or reminisce) about a trip to Paris (or the French countryside) over a glass of Burgundy and tasty but unpretentious French food, I highly recommend Terasol. The menu is somewhat small, but everything I've tried has been home-made delicious, from the salads and sandwiches, to the chicken, to the crepes.

“Nothing Special”
Reviewed March 31, 2012

I wanted to like this cafe because of the unique addition of a local artisan gallery and its attractive entrance. Instead, I had average food in a bland atmosphere. Once you get past the entrance, its just another average cafe that serves an ok lunch.

“Sweet little cafe with a brief menu of French brasserie classics”
Reviewed March 25, 2012 via mobile

Like croque monsieurs? Salad nicoise? Baguettes with chèvre? Then you'll probably love this quiet, French-influenced cafe. (If you're looking for burgers & fries and TVs, head next door to Jake's American Grill instead). We have had a nice lunch here three times now. Service is not always speedy, and we wish the prices were a bit lower, but overall we consider this a welcome addition to the restaurant-starved neighborhood of upper Van Ness/Chevy Chase. Good place for just a glass of wine or cappuccino, too.

“Little food appeal”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

Small menu with immodest prices. Sandwiches and soup mainly, with nothing much to recommend them. Service is very erratic, starting with the owners. Place seems to be popular with book groups, PTA planners, etc., but not a place to go with a date.
