“What a nice surprise”

Didn't know what to expect here. Everything I ate was so great I was shocked. Service was week but the place is a low price point so I don't expect flawless service. Loved it here will be back soon

I couldn't even hear myself think! The noise level here is very loud. We were in a large party and could not hear anything at either end of the table. Even when people walked by to say something (wishing the honoree HB) they had to whisper in a party's ear and they relayed the message. The wait staff was just as bad with taking order with repeating several times what was being said. All of this was on a Friday night and the band was no where near beginning to play. So I would not recommend this if conversation is what your looking for. Food was average. I had the shrimp and grits. It needed a bit more seasoning to the plate and less sause. My grits were swimming in the red sauce. Their collard greens were the highlight of my meal. I would go just to get a takeout of this side dish. Unfortunately, the service needed a little more training. As we waited for our party to be seated (everyone had to be there before being seated) the manager complained that if our party had not arrived in the next five minutes he would give our table away (this was not the instructions that were provided when setting up the reservation a week prior). However, there was nowhere to wait except by the small bar area downstairs which was right next too the kitchen. So since we were taking up space in the bar area and the pathway to the kitchen area they decided to seat us anyway. I guess they thought about it--seat the party of 10 or loose a table ticket for 10. Not my best experience. Although, when the band begin to start their set--it was a pretty good band. So we enjoyed the band during dessert and HB wishes.

“A Little bit of Louisiana inside the Beltway”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, lively bar scene, tasty drinks & eats. Sure, it's more pricey than if you're in LA, but our party of four agreed that everything we ordered from appetizers to main courses was delicious. The Chili Rubbed Bone-In Chop, turkey po boy, Smoked Mozzarella Ravioli and Jambalaya were all fantastique. Tru dat!

“Good food but poor pricing”

Authentic Cajun food in a good atmosphere, but drinks prices are sky high even if they come in jam jars.
