I loved this memorial because it was practically off the map... Other war memorials and presidential memorials were huge with their own paths, signs, etc. This one was sort of in the middle of the underbrush where you sort of go off-road to get to it.
It's simple and nice to sit down for a while, away from the thousands of tourists that crowd the other memorials in The Mall. It's also a nice message from the local DC residents, who raised the money and got the ok to build a memoria just for the often over-looked district's soldiers.
