Description: Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.

Service was poor. Food was definitely not worth the price. Some items we ordered were undercooked (portabello parmagiana) while other food was overcooked (shrimp). Seafood was not fresh and had a heavy ammonia smell. We expected a lot more.

This is a good place to come with friends or co-workers. The servings are "family style" and enormous. We had eight people at a recent lunch and ordered two pasta dishes and a salad, and we still had food left over to take with us. The food is basic Italian food, nothing special. The penne alla vodka was good, but the pasta with broccoli and sausage was bland. The service is always good and attentive. The tables are far enough apart that you can easily carry on a conversation and the room doesn't seem noisy, just pleasantly busy.

Well, for those of you not liking long reviews it had "Great price, good food, average service."
Those that want a bit of detail...I've has mussels in every sauce imaginable. Hands down The best mussels in the USA. I can't say world, because I've had it even better overseas. The Pasta is perfectly cooked, the meatballs could use a higher quality ground. The Shrimp scampi was great. Believe or not what topped almost all of it was the tugboat dessert! just try it... It'll put any Sunday you've had to shame.
As for service, from reception area hostess back to waiter, it was average. He brought old bread w no Oliver oil or butter, asked for a specific drink he went to check on, never did. I would say if it wasn't for the food and value I would be hesitant to go back which is sad to say. But, I will and get someone else who may change my mind. Life is all about chances after all!

Group of approx. 25. Waiter put down ginormous platters (each platter easily could feed a dozen hefty, very hungry, folks) of each course for each 4-5 diners. We didn't touch 3/4 of the platters (believe they sell that food to other tables, collecting 2 or 3 or 4 times for the same food). I am not exaggerating. There was a ginormous platter in front of me, to my left and my right, with 4-5 people for each platter, including me in both calculations.

Salad was mediocre. Penne in vodka sauce was ok, nothing special. Rigatoni with broccoli was uninspired and bland. Chicken parmigiana looked drowned, didn't taste it. Veal in butter sauce was tender but no capers or anything to make it interesting. B-l-a-n-d.

Dessert included tiny cannoli, tasted industrial, maybe bought from a Costco; something starchy with flavorless whipped cream, didn't eat; forget the third option. Really cheap wine (the quality, not the price). $80/person. Should have been $25-30/person. The pounds of food placed, and left, on the table, were a total rip-off. Kind of like what the federal govt. does to taxpayers.

Very big folks who value quantity over quality may like this place.

It all could have been purchased from Costco and reheated.

We were in a small, closed room. No atmosphere at all. Do not go here unless you are looking to blimp out on flavorless starch.

Dined at Carmine's for an impromptu couples night out. Did not have reservations on a busy Saturday night, but were seated quickly in the restaurant hopping with happy people eating, drinking, talking and laughing.

Service was prompt and professional and earned a big tip at the end of the meal.

We shared two bottles of a nice pinot noir--a red that was ripe with flavors but not overwhelming to our dinner choices: salad, shrimp parmesiana and ravioli. HUGE portions and I mean huge. We ate heartily and still enjoyed another dinner for four the next night with leftovers. Delicious and cooked to perfection, it was a wonderful experience that we will repeat.

Come hungry!
