Walk of the Town was a great tour for my family. The four of us heard it was an informative, free, fun tour and decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. Tim was personable, funny and interactive. He kept people interested, though it seemed like some of the memorials were kind of long. He handed out free treats at the end of the tour and encouraged participation throughout. We got to see the major sights and learned lots about them while we were at it. He also handed out extra papers with information for other great sites/events around town we could see. There was plenty of time for rest and taking pictures and he was good at not losing people when we split-up occasionally (like at the Vietnam memorial). There were even built-in bathroom breaks (great when you have children...or a small bladder :) ) All of this is free, though tips are accepted at the end. I think it is definitely worth it - just be careful to give yourself extra time for trying to find the starting location. We almost missed the whole thing trying to find where to start, but thankfully ran into his group as he was crossing towards the White House.
