“A great way to do central Washington!”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

We arrived in Washington just at the end of the Federal shut-down in October and were a little anxious as to what we would find. The first morning was spent with Tim on his walking tour and it proved an excellent way to see the Mall, White House, Memorials etc. He is an engaging and informative guide; the three + hours flew by with varied facts, anecdotes, short quizzes, jokes etc. The group was small and the pace just right. His introduction was also useful in putting later visits to The Capitol and Arlington Cemetry into perspective. I hope his Tips only policy provides a suitable return for his efforts!

“Exploring DC”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Visiting from out of town looking to learn more about DC. Tim was a pleasant storyteller who brings to life the history of the country's capital. We visited the second week of January so prepare for some colder weather, nothing a good jacket, gloves, scarf and a hat won't keep you warm from. We visited a good portion of the memorials and major attractions in the heart of the city and then got an insiders view of some things like graffiti on the WWII memorial and the planning and thought put into placement and details of others. It was extremely enjoyable!

“The only way to see D.C”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

I recently travelled to the US with some friends over the holidays, and after seeing the great reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided we'd definitely give it a go.

We didn't regret it. Tim was abolutley superb for the entire 4 hours. It's clearly something he enjoys doing, and he has the tour set up for pretty much anybody, all nationalities and ages.

We're from England, so we were the butt of a few colonial jokes, which was fun, and Tim coped perfectly with the large group (aprrox. 40+)

Please remember that this is a Tips only tour. Tim only mentions it once at the beginning of the tour, so it may be easy to forget.

This really is the best way to see DC.

“Highly Recommended!”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Tim is an an excellent, informative and entertaining guide to DC, the Mall and its monuments. He is a great raconteur and had many interesting facts about the history and design of DC. Tim obviously loves history and delights in sharing his knowledge in an interactive, interesting and fun way. He is very considerate of his guests. We did this tour on a cold day in November and Tim provided woolly hats, snacks and kept us moving so that we did not get too cold. Tim endeavoured to include everyone in the tour, especially the younger members of the group. We found Tim's tour to be an excellent introduction to DC and the Washington monuments. We would highly recommend this tour. The great reviews that Tim receives are all true!

“You can proudly say you have seen DC after this”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

All the good words that you read about Tim are true. He is a great guide and keeps the tour really engaging. The details he provides including the controversies, humorous anecdotes, and the significance of the monument leaves you a lot more educated.
Although 4 hours seems daunting, you never realize how the time passes. It is done at an easy pace and not strenuous.
