This house is a little bit away from other tourist sites, but we figured out how to take the bus, leaving a walk of under 1/2 mile. We were the only people on our tour, so got all our interests highlighted. One of the nicest historic homes we've visited. You get very close to an authentic piece of history. A history teacher friend recommended this to us or we might have missed it. Definitely worth seeking out.

We're glad you were able to find us using public transportation! The closest bus line is the N2, N4, or N6 which stops on Massachusetts Ave at S Street, NW just one block from Wilson House. You can also take the Metro Red line to Dupont Circle and walk about 5.5 blocks to Wilson House. There are lots of bikeshare options in Dupont Circle as well. Thanks for your comments!

This site was on our list of places to see for quite some time and we were very glad to have the opportunity to visit this past November. The tour and exhibit were interesting and informative. It is a treat to see the home looking largely the way it was during the Wilson's time there. Our guide John did a very good job. Would highly recommend this site!

my husband and I are members of the Historic Preservation Society and noticed that this President's house is one of their properties.
The entire visit was a delight! The introductory film is a perfect beginning and our docent (I can't remember her name) who is a graduate student of American studies made the hour long tour both enjoyable and informative!
The house in which Wilson lived after he left office is beautiful and 90% of the furnishings and artifacts are authentic to the house and to the family.
It is in the Dupont area of town which is a charming neighborhood of restaurants, shops, embassies.
The small gift shop has well chosen gifts and historical books.

A great museum and an excellent place for a small wedding. The museum is small so it doesn't take long to go through but it is filled with original furniture and other of the Wilsons' belongings. The staff was very friendly and gave very interesting information about each room.

A leisurely walk from any hotel in NW DC, this museum is a hit. It's not a large place, and there isn't any parking - so consider a bus tour drop, cab or pedi cab (we walked). It's a step back in time to visit this place. Great historical value and near Embassy Row.
