“Decent choice for a burger craving!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2014

I've eaten burgers here a number of times but hadn't been in for a while and had one of my rare cravings for beef, so stopped into the Dupont Circle branch. The basic burger is $6.99 with a bunch of free toppings. They've also got a wide range of specialty beef, lamb, turkey burgers, and a nice lobster roll. I ordered the Wellington this time, which included mushrooms and according to the menu, some truffle and gorgonzola, plus a side of onion rings. I was disappointed. I couldn't see any cheese and the mushrooms were like rubber. Maybe there were some truffle shavings, but I certainly couldn't taste them. Onion rings are great here, though. This time, I ate (mostly) in, which is a casual, small seating area of booths and tables that could be shared. I've tried the lamb burger and been pleased, and the plain burger is just fine. I've also had a decent lobster roll, but the price in summer (at least last year) was a bit better than the $15 plus price tag this time. (and there is now competition on the lobster front across the street.) This is not a bad choice if you happen to be in Dupont Circle and want some meat. And it is a good choice for a take out if you aren't going far. Fries are also very tasty. They also serve wine and beer and unlimited soft drink refills. I was on the fence about three or four stars but given a somewhat disappointing Wellington this time, I'll leave it at a three. That's not to say I won't try it again. I will. So if you are at Dupont and have a craving for a bun, check it out.

“Meaty”

Great burger and mojo sauce. Huge fries that were fresh and hot. Rivals five guys not sure of how many locations. Not flashy just very good.

“Funky, unpretentious burger joint”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

Funky place for gourmet burgers, great thick fries, unpretentiously served on small pizza platters. Interesting, high tech push button soda machine. Wellington burger with grilled mushrooms, blue cheese and truffles, nicely charred fire-cooked, high quality ground sirloin patty, mmmmmm. My son was happy with his cheddar burger with lettuce & tomato. Friendly guy manning the counter. They hand you a pager, so you know when to pick up your hot, fresh order. It's not a fine dining environment, a low key, fun, bohemian, no frills experience.

“Not a bad burger....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2014

The option to add different toppings was appealing. However, if you like a burger done more than medium rare, beware. If you prefer to ask for your burger cooked a different way, I might suggest you go elsewhere. The sliders were more medium to medium well. The young man taking the order was patient with first time diners. This is a fast food joint, and it did not appear that tables where cleaned off between diners.

“Build-a-burger delight”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014 via mobile

Build your own burger by adding all the good stuff such as blue cheese or Wellington top. Nice fries and tasty shakes too - all made with attention to detail. A bit expensive but you don't want to miss these quality burgers when in the neighbourhood.
