I've eaten burgers here a number of times but hadn't been in for a while and had one of my rare cravings for beef, so stopped into the Dupont Circle branch. The basic burger is $6.99 with a bunch of free toppings. They've also got a wide range of specialty beef, lamb, turkey burgers, and a nice lobster roll. I ordered the Wellington this time, which included mushrooms and according to the menu, some truffle and gorgonzola, plus a side of onion rings. I was disappointed. I couldn't see any cheese and the mushrooms were like rubber. Maybe there were some truffle shavings, but I certainly couldn't taste them. Onion rings are great here, though. This time, I ate (mostly) in, which is a casual, small seating area of booths and tables that could be shared. I've tried the lamb burger and been pleased, and the plain burger is just fine. I've also had a decent lobster roll, but the price in summer (at least last year) was a bit better than the $15 plus price tag this time. (and there is now competition on the lobster front across the street.) This is not a bad choice if you happen to be in Dupont Circle and want some meat. And it is a good choice for a take out if you aren't going far. Fries are also very tasty. They also serve wine and beer and unlimited soft drink refills. I was on the fence about three or four stars but given a somewhat disappointing Wellington this time, I'll leave it at a three. That's not to say I won't try it again. I will. So if you are at Dupont and have a craving for a bun, check it out.
