A great show based on the scientific achievements in the islamic countries many anteceding similar accomplishments in Europe during the Renaissance. Oft in apparent conflict with the "fundamentalist" interpretation today these scientists and scholars were asked to think BEYOND opions/concepts of their day.

There were two current exhibits when we visited, Birds of Paridise and Inventions. Also, Desert Air across the concourse. On the day we visited it was not crowded and we were able to leisurely view everything. As one expects the photography is superb. But, what we found to be even better was how the exhibits blended science, envirornment, education and entertainment into a presentation that could be enjoyed and appreciated by the young to old (to which we are on the cusp). We had fun in the interactive exhibits, were impressed by the photographer's and scientist's equipment displayed. There are videos, photos, charts, graphs, interactive displays.
The staff was helpful, considerate and knowledgeable. Ticket is good for all day- we saw one exhibit, left to eat, returned and saw the other exhibits. All is not free, but, it is inexpensive.
For us we think..would we go again-yes..can we feel good recommending it-yes.

The ever-changing picture exhibits are stunning. Every exhibit is very educational and accessible. This is a museum worth visiting over and over again. Very family friendly.

I was very excited to visit this museum. My father and I paid $12 for admission (he's a senior and I'm a NG member), and we set forth. There were three exhibits in total: Birds of Paradise, 1001 Inventions, and an exhibit of aerial photography of deserts (free, no admission required). The photography were pretty much the same thing you'd find in any National Geographic Magazine. The Birds of Paradise exhibit was very education and interactive, with lots of stuffed birds scattered around the place. The 1001 Inventions exhibit wasn't bad either. It started with a short film to introduce the exhibit, and then it was an immersible, interactive experience. The only thing about it was that there really weren't 1001 inventions covered in the exhibit, there were only about 50. The main problem with this museum was the fact that the exhibition space was so lacking. Once we got to the gift shop, we found that the exhibits were just promotionals for their new books. The exhibits rotate constantly, so go to the website to see what they'll be showing during your visit. You may be very disappointed otherwise.

My daughter and I saw the Bird's of Paradise and 1001 inventor exhibits. It was informative and interactive. We enjoyed our visit. Thursdays are free for children!
