Very nice place to relax. I have never seen so many flowers especially cactuses. Highly recommended.

Lots of different gardens within various greenhouses that were extremely different. You could climb up to a second level and walk around some of them, giving a feeling of been in a canopy setting.
They were really well kept, had a large variety of plants and some entertaining exhibits.
Entry was free and we spent about an hour inside.

DC is full of wonderful museums. But the National Botanic Gardens is a nice change... relaxing, quiet, a respite away from the city hustle and bustle. It’s not large, so You can see it in just a couple of hours. Specimens are nicely labeled. I loved the orchid room. Mostly indoors, so it’s a great way to duck out of the rain!

We have only explored a small portion of the United States Botanic Garden. the Bonsai Garden is spectacular - understated elegant and beautifully displayed.
