It was freezing, literally. We were frozen trying to walk to the Smithsonian and like moths to a flame, we found the Botanic Garden. Oh what a wonderful warmth enveloped up as we began to strip off layers of coats! The jungle, however, is not a place I could ever live due to my allergies. After the 50th sneeze, we moved onto the desert area where it seems is a better environment for my red, allergy ridden nose. We lingered in the desert, thawed, and then moved on to trek through the frozen tundra in search of the Smithsonian. We made it before the frostbite set in, even though the sled dogs had abandoned us and ran south for the remainder of winter.
