Owner description: This outdoor memorial is the most popular of presidential memorials, in large part because of its elegant design, which includes waterfalls and sculptures.
Useful Information: Stroller parking

We had visited this memorial on a previous trip but this visit was made even better by the services of a local tour guide who we found on the internet. There is so much background knowledge to learn about this particular monument, including the decision-making process surrounding it's commissioning and the symbolism of each area. It was really interesting to see an example of FDR' s wheelchair in the information centre and then see it recreated so well in his statue. Love the waterfalls and the statue of his dog. A must-see.

Great sculptures, an original landscaping. Cascades, engraved stones with quotes from the former President.
A quite place facing the Mall.

I found this Memorial very interesting and inspiring. I went on a school trip with young teens. We had a tour guide who explained each area of the Memorial so it was interesting to understand the progression and meaning behind each statue. The kids were very interested as well. Apparently, it is good luck to take a picture with FDR's Scottie Dog.

This was a surprise. I thought there was only 1 waterfall. This is huge and very well done. The waterfalls are unique and lovely. This is well worth a visit. There is a lot of walking to see all the monuments.

Loved this place-so different from the "white buildings and memorials" everywhere. Bike path around the tidal basin-easy trail and beautiful...you will see Jefferson, FDR and MLK...all while biking on a easy, shaded, flat trail.
