It was a nice day, and we decided to walk around the basin. We new the Martha Luther King Jr memorial was there. When we stumbled upon the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial. It was very expansive and quite wonderful. We just took it all in and spent some time there. It will go down as one of my favorites.

The pictures don't do it justice. The walk around the basin is really nice.

This memorial is all about context, quotes and acknowledging the vast contributions FDR had in getting America out of the Great Depression and then confronting WWII. Great memorial, which sequences each presidency and major events, including the President's handicap from polio.

I liked the concept of the different areas to show the different presidential terms. It covered a large area. Beautiful spot on the basin. We were there at sundown and the view across the water was impressive.

I was particularly surprised and impressed by this memorial. It was a great experience for me as a baby boomer as Roosevelt’s Presidency greatly influenced the nation in which I would spend my childhood and life.

The monuments around the basin are fantastic, so much to see. A lot of walking, but so worth it, If you love this country it is a must!!

To big to be impressive. The same story could be told in a better way, on less square meters, the best part is the waterfall

This is a beautiful memorial to reflect on - however it was deeply marred by kids jumping up on the different statues and literally hanging off of them -while their parents stood by and took pictures. This ruined what should be a deeply reflective place to meander through. Sad to see such a lack of respect.

This was an expansion memorial. You travel in time reading the different quotes on the walls in this nature setting.

Very interesting figure in history, but there are other great people in American history that deserved a place of honor before FDR.

We were on evening monuments tour. Beautiful and inspiring memorial but needs more lighting for walking.
