“A lot to see!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

I honestly didn't know there was an FDR memorial but was overwhelmed with how large it was. It is broken up into 4 sections, for each term he was president. They even have a replica of the wheelchair he built himself! Nice statues, impressive displays and a relaxing walk. If you have a tour guide like ours you will learn additional facts from each area.

“New memorial”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

The design and story of this memorial makes it very unique. It chronicles Roosevelt's time in the White House and the various challenges that he faced. Be sure to start at the beginning of the memorial so that it can be fully understood.

“A Walk through FDR's Presidency”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

The memorial is well laid out and tells the story of each of FDR's four terms as President which includes quotations and statuary pertinent to each. A great place to reflect on history. Particularly interesting are FDRs wheelchair in the visitor center and a sculpture of him in his wheelchair directly across. Inspiring for sure.
