“One of the best monuments”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

Beautifully designed and moving (even for a non American) as you move through the various outdoor 'rooms' and see what FDR and Eleanor achieved. It is usually far, far less crowded than the other monuments as well. Worth a visit!

“My favorite memorial in DC!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

This is a great memorial that takes some time to fully walk through. It is very educational too, so if you are traveling with kids this could be a great place to stop and go over the Great Depression. I would highly reccommend this memorial.

“Beautifully done!”

I took a walk around the Tidal Basin from the Jefferson Memorial and found this - I spent a lot of time there, checking it out. Its one of the nicest designs I've seen.

“Very well planned memorial”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2012

Like most of the national monuments, it's best if you get a guide to give you explanations. This is one of the larger monuments, but so well done. It's worth the walk. On nice days, the walk along the tidal basin is quite peaceful.

“A place of reflection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2012

What a fantastic haven away from the hustle and bustle of the mall. This memorial, set along the water and offering a restful area of monuments, great thoughts from Roosevelt, cascades of water and interesting sculptures is just a great way to spend some time away from it all. A bit out of the way but definitely worth the extra walking.
