Great, knowledgeable docents. So many beautiful details - the stained glass windows, the sculpture, paintings, architecture, tapestries. Take the tour. Photos encouraged!

We entered to attend a evening service and enjoyed the cathedral's beauty and the choir that was practicing.

Really, we saw amazing works of art in Germany...but of the 100's of churches we saw, we paid for maybe 3. The fact they ask for 10$ admission is poor taste. Churches are places of worship and adoration.... one may ask for donation...but to flat out ask for $ is poor taste

This cathedral reminded me of Westminster Abbey. It is so worth seeing. I loved it. Words cannot describe it. It is a must see when visiting Washington D.C.

I live right by the Cathedral and visit whenever I can. But know that the volunteer staff will stop you at the main visitors' entrance and hit you up for donations before allowing you access to this church, so I recommend going in via the south side entrance thru the Cathedral shop on the ground floor - browse the shop first, THEN go upstairs to the nave where you will be greeted with the best stained glass windows collection anywhere in the United States, if I dare say so. Make sure you go on a sunny day to get the full-on spectacular effects of the stained glass. Take the red line metro to Tenleytown stop and then catch any 30 bus going south - the bus ride is only about 10 mins from Tenley town metro to the Cathedral which is at the Wisconsin Avenue and Woodley road bus stop. Just cross Wisconsin Ave to the east side to access the Cathedral grounds. Metro escalator tip: STAND on the right. WALK on the left. And don't forget it, lest the workforce runs you down.
