“Beautiful”

Absolutely gorgeous. The architeture alone is a spiritual experience. It was damaged in the 2011 Washington, DC earthquake, but is still accessible and still breathtaking.

“If you want peace go here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

A great place for thinking and praying, no matter your religion! You can go there to enjoy the building, the gargouilles (search for Darth Veder), to pray and to search all the walls and statues.

“Oh my goth!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Make the effort to see the Nat'l Cathedral. Watch the videos about it's construction. It is SO worth doing! It is so fascinating to learn about the people who have volunteered their time to stay and work on it, or those who have made it their life's work. If you can, go on the day that they give the little talk and demonstration of the pipe organ.

“Beautiful building.”

They say there is no history in the US, well you should see this cathedral, the building is breathtaking - use the superb Trolley Tour bus and get on and off as you wish.

“Tour and tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

On our recent trip to Washington prior to going we booked a Gothic Tour and Tea through the national cathedral website. My husband was in two minds about this but agreed as I really wanted to do see the cathedral and I love Gothic architecture.

The tour was superb it took into account the varying needs and interests of the tour members and was given by a really knowledgeable volunteer who gave a passionate account of the Gothic cathedral.

Following this we were treated to a lovely tea with the most stunning views of the city. The volunteers who run this program are hospitable and so very proud of their cathedral it is a really worthwhile afternoon.

I highly recommend this.
