Gorgeous views. Tons of history. Just steps away from the Smithsonian museums, the METRO, restaurants and more. Great for every type of visitor.

Visited DC in November but it poured with rain all day, so we had to find indoor activities, and this was one of the best, especially as it it free of charge. Excellent guided tour (from our brilliant guide Brian!) and what a beautiful building, Advisable to book in advance but we only had to queue for about 30 minutes to get returns,. Tours every 15 minutes.
It's amazing to go walking all around the US Capitol... well organized, beautiful, relax.. It's a place you SHOULD go in DC.
We visited the U.S.Capitol late in the afternoon around 3pm and still managed to get on a tour.
The tour guide was crap, but the building and the rooms visited and the history was amazing.
After we managed to get passes to the watch Senate sitting. It is really worth the security checks.
The US Capitol is a wonderful place to take pictures as its classic architecture glows as you put your eyes on it.
I did not have the opportunity but you can pay for an inside tour and go to the top of the Capitol where you certainly will have a great sightseeing.
