“Tour of the Capitol”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

This is a nice tour but it would be better if we could see the senate chambers. I would recommend you get tickets through your congressman, because you could get a pass to see the chambers.

“Capitol Hill "Don't Miss These"”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

The Capitol Building tour is a MUST DO...take the one that you have to book with your congressman/woman. So very much to learn that you probably wouldn't otherwise. The tour guides not only know their stuff, but they tell it in a way that keeps your attention. Besides, being with other tourists who will ask questions you may not think of adds to the experience. Another MUST DO on Capitol Hill is the Library of Congress tour (again, book in advance with your congressman/woman for the best tour). I was absolutely blown away by the tour...the beauty of the building, the facts and history of the building, and again, those interesting little stories you'd probably not hear or read about otherwise. The tour is of the Jefferson Building, the best known and most popular, but while you're in the area, go to the Madison Building of the Library of Congress. American citizens age 16 and above (and foreign visitors in many instances, too) can get a library card that will allow you to peruse the library, "check out" books and other periodicals. Keep in mind, the Library of Congress is not a lending library, but you can request books and other items to look at in the library. Not on Capital Hill, but one more of my MUST Do's is....

The Pentagon. Again, take the tour that requires a pass from your congress person. I was (and still am) astonished, amazed, awed and all that sort of words. So very, very much to be known and all extremely interesting. Oh (and sorry), one more place:

Arlington National Cemetery. A gem. 'nuff said.

“Book the tour”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

I couldn't resist the opportunity to visit the Capitol. You know, where the big decisions in the western world are being taken.
The guided tour was very informative and interesting, and it looked like our guide Zoya was really into it, so it was even better.
It's an amazing structure with great treasures, architecture, statues, portraits, and whatever you can dream about, when you enter such a place.
The only thing that bothered me, was the requirement to come as early as possible, so I've waited quite a time till the tour started.

“capitol hill building to understand how does it works”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

for a french like me its very interesting to understand how does laws and governement in USA works. With this visit is perfect. Movie, guide, pictures, models, writings, devices to understand in french what we see are very complete. You have to book on line your ticket. Its free but you cant visit and book the same day. You will need at least 3 hours to complete visit including the library of congress. If you arrive by car think of the time you will spend to find a place not too far from the visitor center. The line is often big. One more thing to do in Washington. Last thing, every one was interested by this visit even teens!
