My husband and I had the honor to see Marvin Hamlish conduct the national symphony orchestra (pops!) in December of 2010 and it was amazing! The beautiful Kennedy Center definitely made the event extra special and it was most certainly a night to remember! Loved every second of it and will never forget!! So if you ever have the chance to go to the Kennedy center please do, you won't regret it!!

Whether you just want to see the building or go to an event it is worth it to see the Kennedy Centre. We went to Shear Madness and ate at KC Cafe (the Terrace was closed for a private event). Was a great way to spend an evening in Washington.

The beautiful building of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is not to be missed. There are several theaters in the building. On any given night, you can see operas, symphony performances, NY type shows and attend lectures. There is a lot going on here and most of it is extremely well done. Depending on your budget, choose something that you like and find seats in a price range that doesn't cause bankruptcy to the family. The interior of the building is very elegant. There is a gift shop and it, too, has things in all price ranges.

The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is situated overlooking the Potomac River and the view from the upstairs is superb.
