I go once a month to see the free show at the Millennium Stage. One of the smartest thing they ever did.

While on this occasion we did not get to book a performance of the Ballet or Opera etc, we decided to head to the 6pm free concert - agenda found online on Saturday evening after a big day out at Arlington Cemetery. We returned to Foggy Bottom station and relaxed for a late lunch and then walked to the JFK Center for Performing Arts to take in some historic streets with row houses along the way. For those not capable of walking the distance - a complimentary shuttle bus leaves from right in front of Foggy Bottom Station to deliver you directly to the Center.
We arrived at about 5.15pm and given the interest in the performance took a wander around the enormous centre and then stood in line waiting to ensure a good seat.
I was amazed at the fact that there are equally good performances scheduled everyday of the week at 6pm which are free of charge. This is definitely worth the effort - it allows you to see a wonderful centre and experience a superb free musical event which lasts approximately 1 hr or thereabouts...allowing you time to then move on to dinner. We went back to Foggy Bottom and enjoyed dinner at Circa, given we enjoyed our late lunch experience.

I love the Kennedy Center. We saw a wonderful version of Cosi fan Tutti in February. I just wish I would remember to book at the restaurant there months in advance. The views are incredible and the food is supposed to be fabulous. A wonderful experience.
