They have work of art, Monet, Van Gogh and Picasso, and more.
They have a room from 1770 France, that is exceptional, wish the walls could talk.
We could have spent all day there.

We had hoped to go to some other Art Galleries, but we were in Washington during the Shutdown in October. This is a private museum so it is more expensive to visit, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

You have to get used to the salon style of display, which I found a bit overwhelming. There were some beautiful bronze statues, and an amazing marble bust called the Veiled Nun. Paintings include those by Singer Seargent, Whistler. There was also an exhibition called War Games, which used toy soldiers and miniatures - very interesting!

Went on a Sunday to take in a special exhibit, discovered they had live music and plenty of great items in their regular collection. I think admission was $10 for seniors, and I got at least $10 worth of enjoyment out of the visit. Especially liked Church's Niagara Falls painting and the Mary Cassat they own. And it's only about a block from the White House.

It is a lovely building to start with. Also the restaurant downstairs does Sunday brunch with live music. I did not eat there, so I cannot comment on the food. The atmosphere is relaxing. The War Photo Exhibition is great, a bit sombre for a Sunday, but I had a great time and seen lovely pieces on the day. Check out the photos I sent linked to this review, they speak for itself.

The Corcoran has many classic paintings that you'll recognize. Best part is the opportunity to sit and ponder a piece without loud/ large crowds. Several spaces have filtered natural light which is rare for an art collection, and adds to the beauty and overall experience. The Mia Feuer exhibit is amazing and worth a visit-- large, expansive sculptures, including a real skating rink installed under the most impressive piece. The food at the courtyard style restaurant is also better than most museums.
