“A Gem”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

This little museum is such a gem in a city full of more famous larger institutions. It contains a very comprehensive collection of modern and impressionist art, as well as rotating (and fascinating) contemporary pieces. It is housed in a beautiful Dupont Circle mansion. Don't miss the Jacob Lawrence!

“Terrific art gallery”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

This gallery has some outstanding pieces including several Rothko's as well as Picasso, Monet, and Van Gogh. Be sure to go to the lowest level to see the wonderful original wood work that reflects the original home. This is a terrific boutique art gallery and is located in Embassy row, where all the Embassies for other countries are located. A very pretty part of D.C. Worth the trip out there. You can get there by the Metro but this may be worth a cab ride while you look out the window and try to guess the Embassies by their flags.

“Great collection”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Really enjoyed the Phillips Collection. Although you already have the national Smithsonian Galleries here in DC, it is definitely worth paying to see this collection, situated just off of Dupont Circle.

“Our favorite”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

A little off the beaten path but so worth the visit. The house is arranged perfectly for the artwork and it seems like you have rooms just to yourself at times. This was not a crowded place when we went and we just kept pinching ourselves. There were very special pieces and you could get so close or just sit and really enjoy them. A great find!
