Far from union station like 15 minutes on a rickedy van. at check in there appeared to have been shelter families with multiple children. the decor is shabby 70's the breakfast was spartan. i cant see how this could be rated above poor. the van is am and eveninng only so you had to cab it in between. dont believe positive reviews...do not stay here!!!!!!!

I made a reservation at this hotel, then cancelled it the same day after finding an alternate place to stay. The cancellation policy was for 48 hours prior to arrival. I cancelled about a month prior to expected arrival. A pending charge showed up on my credit card so I called the credit card company and told them I had cancelled the reservation. A few days later the charge was put through and my Choice Hotels profile recorded me as a "no-show". I first contacted the hotel directly, and the person I spoke with said I had to call the corporate office since I had made my reservation through the web site. I then spent more time on the phone with someone at corporate. He had my reservation as well as the cancellation confirmation, but he was unable to resolve the issue while I was on the phone with him. In the meantime, I have filed a dispute with the credit card company. So far, the charge is still showing up on my account. (This would have been a solo trip in April, but I did not take the trip; I was unable to submit the review without this information.)

First, its not near Union Station- it's a 15-20 minute ride via shuttle that does not operate between 11 AM and 5 PM. Taxi fare is about $12 one way. The hotel is adjacent to cargo and passenger rail lines that operate 24/7- bring ear plus. Also, it was impossible to adjust the hot water in the shower- too hot or too cold. The room itself was good and service was good.

Room Tip: Request room on STREET side of building to lessen noise of trains.

The hotel is in a really bad part of town, you don't go out at night. Rooms need a bloody good clean and scrub and breakfast is a joke. Try somewhere else, it will be worth the extra money. The only good thing was a free shuttle into town

My husband and I came from Denver with twins daughters . All other rooms in the city were over $350 a night. We stayed here for 5 nights and the average cost was about $140 a night. It was comfortable and the shuttle took us every day to Union Station. The room were clean and up dated and the lobby was large enough to read and relax during the evening after we came back. Add in a free hot breakfast every morning and it was a very comfortable experience. The hotel is clean and very friendly. The very best part is the staff. I have never in all my years of traveling nd staying at some 5 star hotels ever met a better staff. These folks were not only supper nice but went out of their way to treat each guest like they were a VIP. We were almost sad to have to move on. This is a true experience in the life of the city. Folks who live and work in the area and have insight and compassion about how the city works. For the money this is not only a bargain but a wonderful experience.

Not as close to downtown or Union Station as they claim. Fairly far from everything. They provide a shuttle, which is helpful. Decent rooms, but old and out of date. Not the best part of town either. For the $, it works, but I wouldn't stay hear again. The staff does make up for the location though. They are pleasant and helpful.

For a cheap place to stay in the capital where many hotels charge over $300 a night, this is a clean, comfortable and very reasonable place to stay. The rooms have been updated, however i think the person installing the taps didn't know what they were doing. Anyways, we enjoyed our stay and found the staff very helpful. The hotel includes a FREE breakfast, and Free shuttle to union station. While the breakfast doesn't vary, there is something for everyone, and again it's FREE! the beds were ok, however real size pillows might be a nice touch. We were equipped with a great tv, bathroom and all of the necessities to make our stay comfortable. The shuttle ran in the morning and afternoon to evening, and you can get to anywhere at union station. TIP: get a day pass for the circulator bus for $3. No complaints and if we ever make the drive to Washington again we will stay here again too.

Room Tip: Perhaps ask for a room facing the street so your not on the train tracks.
