Courtney and Joe and their team have made Woodley Park Guest House a pleasure to stay at . Their greeting is warm and welcoming; the clean comfortable room was maintained to the highest standard. The breakfast served around the large dining table allowed guests to meet, swap stories and recommend best attractions and restaurants. Courtney or one of her team was hovering to provide both introductions and leads.."Chris, let me introduce you to Dave who visited ........" The breakfast servery was also constanly topped up and cleaned down so you always felt as if you had first choice. Its proximity to the metro and Washington Centre was a big bonus for us, and a large selection of local restaurants meant you did not feel short changed by coming out of the centre back to Woodley Park . If you are planning on spending a few days in Washington and want to get the most out of your stay, you would struggle to find a better place than Woodley Park Guest House. If you are still in the planning stage, add another day or two to your schedule, Washington has a huge number of Museums and sights that just fill the days; my wife willingly spent a day in the Smithsonian Flight/Space Travel museum and I was very happy to revisit the Portrait gallery; three days was at least two days too few. Don't miss the Renwick and pack a comfortable pair of shoes; the joy of Washington is walking the sites, malls and streets.
And then, when you have to leave, the team is there ready to help you confirm your flights, print your boarding pass and facilitate your departure.

Our son gave us a Christmas present to stay at the woodley Park Quest House in Washington DC. We came to sight see and ended up up having one of the best vacations we have ever had. The Inn was delightful, we had a visit to the White house scheduled, but it was cancelled, and then the hotel gave us admission to the Newseum
(a wonderful must see for anyones visit to DC) The Inn is friendly, helpful and the quests come from all over the states/world. This gem is located a few stops from all the museums and is very reasonably priced. Our stay at the inn made our stay so wonderful.

I have spent many night in Bed and Breakfast accross the country. The Woodley Park Guest House is one of the best deals going. Hotel cost in Washington DC are expensive. The Woodley Park Guest House was the best deal for the money in the area. The owners and staff we friendly and helpful, the upstairs rooms were well decorated and comfortable. I enjoyed the company around the breakfast table and they had excellent cookies!

Owners Courtney and Joe Lodico have created a warm, welcoming, comfortable atmosphere in this well located guest house. The stimulating and entertaining conversations around the communal breakfast table, which the Lodicos host, provide ideas for sightseeing and practical information - many guests are regulars, often professional with business in the capital city. Single, female, older travellers can often feel isolated but here one felt genuinely valued and that nothing was too much trouble, from visitor and local facilities information, printing off boarding passes and so on. It was bliss to return after a long day to tea and cookies. If you prefer silent breakfast, large dining room, TV/radio in your room and anonymous staff, pay more and go to a multinational, chain hotel. The Lodicos offer kind, professional hospitality - all too rare these days - and are to be patronised and applauded.

One of the best things about this inn is its convenient location -- only yards away from the Woodley Park Metro stop. The inn is a tastefully refurbished older home located on a tree-lined street, with over a dozen restaurants within walking distance. Our room was comfortable and quiet, was furnished with glowing antiques, and had a private bathroom.

The daily breakfast consisted of a fabulous fresh fruit salad, cereals, breads and pastries, boiled eggs, and hot coffee and tea. The guests were seated around a large table, which encouraged lively conversations. During our stay, we met travelers from France, England, Austria, Australia, and various parts of the US. At times there wasn't enough room at the table for everyone, but the guests spread out to chairs in the living room and the front porch.

We found the proprietors and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We were impressed that our hosts remembered everyone's name, and made introductions among the guests. They also made sure that each guest was provided with information on sightseeing, transportation, restaurants, and entertainment.

We will definitely return for future visits.

My husband and I loved this place! It was beautiful and very clean. The room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable - we slept better than we had in years. The Woodley Park Guest House is in a great location. Walking distance to the Zoo and the National Cathedral. The walk to the cathedral was about a mile, but the neighborhood is so beautiful you harldy notice the distance. The Metro entrance is a 2 minute walk away. The breakfast in the morning is great- elegant yet simple with a wonderful fruit salad and pastry and juices and coffee. The owners and staff were really friendly and accomaditing.(We were new to the city and the owner even offered to drive us to one of the places we wanted to see) If we come to D.C again we will definatly be staying here.

If you are travelling to DC on business or pleasure, look no further than Woodley Park Guest House. When we travel, as a rule, we always stay at Bed and Breakfasts or small Inns. The warm welcome and comfortable environment at Woodley Park Guest House outshone them all.
After a having to stay in a corporate hotel for a conference in the suburbs, we chose Woodley Park Guest House to continue our stay in DC. It was a welcome sanctuary conveniently located in the City.
Many of the guests there are fervent returnees over several years. After staying there, we can see why. From the first moment we arrived, to our very last cup of tea - Courtney, Joe and Nellie made us feel like honored guests. They did everything possible to make our trip to DC perfect in every way. With introductions by the Innkeepers, family-style breakfast conversations with fellow travelers from all over the country and around the world was always lively and interesting – a good way to start your day! And speaking of starting your day - the mattresses at Woodley Park G.H. are the best we have ever experienced on any trip!
Courtney and Joe also gladly offered tips, suggestions and guidance for our daily sojourns and were great ambassadors to the lively and eclectic Woodley Park neighborhood and its many restaurants. With the Metro station a few steps from the charming front porch, the museums and monuments of the Mall was no more than fifteen minutes away – a quick ride on the very clean subway system.
When we plan our return trip to DC next year, we won’t have to look any further than the hospitality and comfort of the Woodley Park Guest House.
