We took a tour last week with Jean as out guide. We were lucky that there were only two of us on the tour so didn't have to wait for the group to return from foot explorations around the monuments. We loved the Segway tour and would recommend it to anyone! Having walked the sights a few years previously a Segway was by far my preferred method of travel!

Riding the seg through the National Mall at night (the sunset Safari) was one of those "weeee" moments in life. The tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. The trip took a little over 2 hours. By the time we were back, no one wanted to get off their segs.
At the end, you're given a segway license to give you permission to go for rentals next time around. You'll officially have "segsy" legs :)

Would love to come back again in the Spring maybe.

The only way to see DC is on a Segway with Segs in the City.
Our guide Matt made sure we fully understood how to operate a Segway correctly and safely during our training and indoc session. We then headed out on a bluebird day to see the sights on the Segs in the City monuments tour/safari.
I learned more on this tour of DC than on any other type of tour. Matt was very knowledgeable. We'll be back to Segs in the City in the spring with more family and friends.

We took the metro to Federal Triange and walked over to Segs in the City which was right next to the Old Post Office Building on Pensylvannia Avenue and 11th Street. After checking in for our 2 1/2 Monument Safari tour at 2:30 PM we had a demonstration as to how to ride the segway and had some time to practice in the courtyard before leaving on our tour. It's pretty easy to ride the segway even if it is your first time. Our tour guide took us to the National Mall where we passed by the Washington monument and then over to backside of the Jefferson Memorial where we had a short break to view the memorial on our own. Our next stop was at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial where we got 30 minutes to view the memorial on our own. We then passed by the Martin Luther King Memorial and continued on to the Lincoln Memorial where we got another 20 minutes to view the memorial. We then headed over the White House to take photos and then back to Segs in the City. The 2 1/2 hours went by pretty fast. Wish our viewing time was less so that we could have stopped at the Martin Luther King, Vietnam and Korean memorials. One nice thing about this tour (don't know if the other segway tours do this) is that we all received a card (like a credit card) which says "Licensed Segway Rider" which allows you to rent Segways antime from Segs in the City. All in all a beautiful afternoon well spent exploring the DC Memorials on a segway!

My 23 year old grandson wanted to do a Segway tour and convinced his 76 yr old grandfather to do it. We had a great time. Ashley our tour guide was excellent. We took the 2.5 hour tour $70 each at 2 30 pm. It was a great way to see a lot without a lot of work. I was amazed how easy it was to learn to do it. I will do it again.
