Hands down this is one of the most stunningly beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s a few blocks away from the White House and in the center of all the action.

The reception area is one of a kind. Its a private enclave and gives you a more relax and special feeling just checking in. Our front desk person was very friendly and accommodating, she was also from California and understood what we needed.

The valet and bell person were all friendly and helpful. We always travel with tons of luggages and it was seamless when we checked in.

The bar & restaurant crew were very friendly and attentive. I’ve reviewed the Alhambra restaurant separately and the food there is simply exceptional.

We stayed at a Caroline Astor room. It was elegant and classy in every way. The color scheme of baby blue envelopes the entire room. The living room and bedroom furniture pieces were first class interior design. The details and quality of the furnishings were noticeable. The bathroom design is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, modern furnishing surrounded by classical marble design.

As a Marriott Ambassador Elite, we were given complimentary breakfast but we didn’t have a chance to enjoy it. I’m sure it would been terrific food.

The best part of this hotel is the main lobby. Brings you back in time to the elegance of the 1920s, beautiful and classy, blending modern and antique, contrasting beauty. You have to be there to appreciate the colors and exquisite interior design.

Worth the price for the stay. Impeccable service and elegance. Absolutely six starts in my view.

I probably gonna rate this stay as the second-worst stay I have this year. There is barely any service in this hotel.
The checkin process is super slow and took about 15 minutes or above. I really did not want to interrupt the front desk ladies, but there must be better ways to efficiently show hospitality. The chekout with another lady is also terrible. That lady did not even know that STARS rate has 100 food credit AND 60 breakfast credits.
Actually these two front desk ladies presented the only service I experienced during my stay. No so-called butler service, no turndown service. I quite doubt whether I was staying in a St Regis.
The food in Alhambra is above average, and that might be the only positive point I could give to this hotel.
The room is not quiet at all. One could hear clearly what happened in the hall way. I donnot even want to mention the tiny bathroom without bathtub(even if I was upgraded to a GRAND LUX room) and there was not even a hotel book menu in the room to check where is gym or what service the hotel provided.
Don't give a high expectation to this hotel, or just save money to try others.

The locations perfect, very walkable hotel to the most popular sights. The staff was helpful particularly the doorman with directions etc. My room was nicely appointed and elegant. Loved the champagne sabering in the lobby. I would stay here again

This is my second stay here and again, the consistency, detail, and staff are all heads and shoulders above the rest.

From the gentlemen out front greeting as you come in, to the front desk staff I met during my stay were all friendly and, attentive, special mention to Jennifer (she checked me in), Ayesha, and Mark. The room attendant Robyn is really a treasure!!

I take this trip every year to DC for my meetings. The staff here is a big part of the reason why this property is always my first choice!!!

You would think that when you stay at the St. Regis that the service would be great. In this hotel the service is sub standard and the room that they assigned us was very small. We have stayed in many hotels in DC in the last 3 years and by far this is the worst hotel and experience. I’d recommend that you stay at the Trump where service is better and the accommodations are lancer and more comfortable.

The St Regis DC is an excellent hotel, well located for all the main attractions, just two blocks north of the White House. The hotel has been open for around 100 years and you really get a feel for the history of the hotel as soon as you pull up, with the architecture and the decor bringing you the vibe and glamour of old DC, of the three hotels we stayed on our trip, this had the most history, you could just tell.

Our arrival was managed well and we were well looked after by the bellman and the receptionist who made good conversation and checked us in with ease.

Our bags were sent to the room and upon finding our room, we were met by a traditionally styled but luxurious room. This is not a modern hotel, however the modern luxuries you expect such as flat screen TV, charging points next to the bed and fast WiFI were all present - we had everything we would need.

The bathroom was on the cosy side, with only a double shower. However everything was functional with good water pressure and toiletries. Nothing was missing.

Housekeeping service was also attentive, with a good evening turndown service and the added touch of classical music playing on your return to the room, helping you wind down for sleep.

I visited the gym, however did not use this. It was well appointed with modern equipment, however in a small windowless room in the basement. Not the best, but certainly practical.

We did not dine in the hotel, however did visit the bar before dinner one evening. Service was excellent with fantastic mixology behind the bar to create some unique cocktails. The oak panelled walls and jazz, gave you a feel for a time gone by but in a good way! We thoroughly enjoyed our pre-dinner drinks and also got to witness the St Regis ritual of champagne sabreing at 6pm - well worth a watch and a quick glass of champers after!

This was my first visit to a St Regis and I was thoughtful as to whether it would feel part of a global chain, or whether it would have the more personalised service and individuality of Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental and the like and it certainly did.

If you want a 5*, luxury retreat that is small, cosy and a little traditional then I would certainly encourage a stay at St Regis DC.
