My family stayed at the St-Regis in Washington for the 2014 Easter week-end. The service from the Head concierge, cultural attaché et reception were above my expectations. 1 week before our stay, we received an e-mail asking us if we had special requirements. They helped us find 2 AMAZING restaurants and provided us with detailed information to make our stay a memorable experience. Thank you for organizing the Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning. It felt a bit like home. It was also incredible to have conversations in French in the hotel. Thank you to Jean-Francois, Alex and Pierre. Merci mille fois. Nathalie

Stayed in DC the first week in April and we were really impressed. Chose the Regis due to recommendations and location and we were not disappointed. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and extremely helpful. Sleep quality was second to none which helps when you travel from the other side of the globe. Will stay there again if we have the chance.

I stayed at this hotel recently for two nights and have nothing but good things to say. Wonderful service, including room service, great meals in the restaurant, and a great location. Win win all the way around.

Room Tip: The rooms on the outside of the building ironically seem to be the quietest.

Stayed here for a weekend to be close to the downtown action. Rooms are a little expensive, but that is the price to pay to be in a great area. Everywhere we wanted to go was just a walk or cab ride away. Staff was great and very accommodating. No issues with the room or service. Great place to be.

I had my wedding reception many years ago, when the hotel was the Carlton. I have wanted to return, and for my mother's 84th birthday, my sisters and I decided this hotel would be the perfect place to celebrate and , it was even better than expected. Such a lovely hotel, excellent staff, the most comfortable beds, great towels, perfect showers and for a small hotel the gym was great. And then we ate dinner at the hotel restaurant, Decanter. A gorgeous room, soothing jazz in the background, a competent wine menu and one of the best and most memorable dinners! The menu is varied, but not large. It was difficult to decide , so the knowledgeable wait person , a gentleman from Bangledesh, expertly helped us choose. Aromatic poached flounder…I want so much to return for another dinner, maybe the same one! Breakfast in Decanter is also and experience, with fresh large berries in yoghurt, eggs scrambled with porcini mushrooms and spinach, fluffy blueberry pancakes, and once again, expert wait staff. I lived in europe for 10 years and miss the european hotels, the staff, the quiet ambiance…all found here, in the lovely St Regis.

Room Tip: Actually, the hotel is sound proof so all the rooms are excellent.

After staying at the St Regis DC last November we loved it (see my review from last November), when we planned a return trip this April for our wedding we didn't think twice about booking at the St Regis DC again.

Upon arrival things just didn't go smoothly. The desk agent didn't have our reservation details correct and check-in was overly complicated. We arrived to room 204 the Metropolitan Suite we booked. The room given was overlooking a back alley of the hotel with views of the dumpster and portable toilets. It was explained that due to spring break they couldn't change anything. The room had a musty smell and we couldn't open the windows as they were all screwed shut so we held open the room door while we unpacked in an effort to circulate some fresh air. The bathroom floor had stains as you will see in the photos attached.

Wanting to checkout!!! our wedding schedule didn't allow time to do so and we had guests in another room as well so we decided to proceed as planned and got ready to meet our friends and family in the hotel bar Decanter to start off our celebration. Only to find Decanter was closed for a large corporate function.

The next morning at 5:30 am trucks arrived to start trash removal and sounded like a demolition team was knocking the hotel down. An hour later the same trucks returned for recycling. So sad that St Regis brand allows a room to be rented that should be used for storage or staff office instead.

College Rave Party hosted at a 5 Diamond Historic Landmark St Regis until 1 AM!!!! REALLY???

The hotel dropped to a TERRIBLE score when on our last night they hosted a college prom with Rave style music thumping throughout the hotel and our room was directly above the banquet room. It was concert level volume that could be heard and felt in our room like we were in a dance club and management refused to do anything. The manager on duty said he would come up but never did. At midnight 12AM he finally explained on the phone there was nothing he could do, and informed us that the DJ would continue until 1AM per the contract the hotel management signed with the event. He offered a one night refund and said he had to go as the lobby was full of irate guests he had to deal with and hung up. Insane!!! Upon checkout the next day the desk agents showed NO sympathy and NO manager was available. Since we've tried to address with the management and have been dismissed with a 2 night refund and no proper acknowledgement that they failed big time. This was a disaster of a stay and no amount of money offered can fix. Once in a lifetime event trashed by the St Regis DC. - We are Gold Starwood members and have been loyal St Regis customers for years. DISMISSIVE MANAGEMENT at this resort - Be careful on room selection and be prepared to change hotels... So sad for such a wonderful historic landmark hotel...

Concierge Staff - was the only thing that was perfect and finest quality service! Mr. J.F. and Leslie in the concierge department went above and beyond for us... So thank you for that

Room Tip: BE VERY CAREFUL - High floor rooms on the front or front sides only!!! Rooms to the rear or on the...
