“Beautiful and Educational”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

I was delighted with the beauty of these amazing Creatures. There are many species of Butterflies and flowering plants in this Habitat.
Bring a little time and your Camera and you might even have one of the Butterflies land on you for Good Luck.
The Staffer on hand was helpful and knowledgeable. It is well worth a visit.
Also, if you love Butterflies, you will love the Movie in 3D "Flight of the Butterfly"

“No butterflies?”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

The garden is lovely. It has different habitats and tips on what you can plant to attract butterflies to your yard. However, we walked through it two separate times and there were NO butterflies. Our flowers have more butterflies and we didn't plant especially for them.

“Uh, folks, you're almost all reviewing the wrong attraction!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

As a quick check with your favorite web search engine will confirm, the "Smithsonian Butterfly Habitat Garden" is *not* the Butterfly Pavilion on the upper floor of the National Museum of Natural History, but rather an *outdoor* garden just off the southeast corner of the NMNH that is free to everyone. While the butterflies in the Habitat Garden aren't the hothouse beauties in the Pavilion that are bred to be numerous at all times of the year, it is still true during the right seasons, when the habitat vegetation is drawing them, they are a treat for the eyes of the lepidopterally inclined. (Yeah, I know that there's no such word, so sue me....)

“Well worth the admission fee”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

The butterfly exhibit costs $6 per adult (free on Tuesdays). It's surprising to have to pay to see a Smithsonian exhibit in D.C, but this was well worth the $6. With that $6 you walk through a small garden contained on the top floor of the Natural History Museum (in a big tank) filled with butterflies. If you're a photographer, the place is teeming with beautiful flowers and butterflies, and there's always something amazing to look at, don't miss the giant silk moth, it's huge. You're welcome to stay as long as you like inside the exhibit as well.

“surpised about the admission”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

I didn't see that there was very many butterflies for the price (looking through the window in their display), so I skipped it as didn't think it was worth the $9.
